Children with peanut allergies, whether real or imagined, have become the homosexuals of alternative culinary lifestyles.

Mexicans could have been the greatest if it weren't for pizza and sandwiches. Furthermore, white inventors don't even have a Wiki page!

I was always taught this knot as a Mexican Come-along. It is very useful.

Sometimes it pays to live in the Midwest.
My kid has a classmate in kindergarten with a peanut allergy and he's supposed to tell the teacher when he brings a PB&J for lunch (everyday). Who the hell knows if he does or not, but there is certainly none of this "Peanut-free Zone" bullshit in the Heart of it All.

My brother, who's in his 40s now, has always been very allergic to peas. (Contrary to what this author suggests, too much early exposure might be responsible.) I remember seeing him swell up like a puffer fish after touching pea or peanut residue on a table when we were kids.
Anyway, we were kids long enough ago that people had the odd notion that my parents and my brother were responsible for making sure by brother didn't eat peas, including peanuts, at school. His teachers and the lunch ladies might have gotten sick of hearing a little kid remind them of his allergies all the time, but it worked. He did just fine without the school punishing all of the other students.

When I was in high school there was a would-be bodybuilding clatch of 3-4 kids who started juicing in grade 11. They had a bunch of odd notions cribbed from 80s bodybuilder magazines, including eating raw potatoes as a high carb low-fat snack, but one kid in particular, every day for a year brought a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter and a jug of milk to school, and at lunch time sat there for an hour, making peanut butter sandwiches and eating them, washed down with milk.
I've got no real point here, just an odd reminiscence.

I assume he still eats that way. What's his IGX handle?

Last time I saw him, eight or nine years ago he had the facial wasting characteristic of full blown AIDS, so I presume he's passed away by now.
That doesn't preclude him having posted here in one of the earlier IG-
x's though.
