No Thigpen or Ortmayer in the prelims. I thought Thigpen got the invite. And what in the fuck has happened to Ortmayer?

Looks to me like Shaw, Bjornsson, Jenkins, Hollands happened...the whole WSM scene jumped about two notches since the end of the Pudz era. Now there is Big Z and about 3 or 4 guys getting very close. No room for the old all rounders

Someone at Marunde Muscle said Travis was banned/ suspended for something done in 2011. Who knows, though? Mike Jenkins, Crossfit Owner and Crossfit Level 1 Trainer, is in the finals.

I think he had a tantrum after the squat event.

Is Jenkins from the Boston area? There was a CF guy/strongman on tour with the Warped Tour. Some of the videos were depressing - he turned a cool gym into all-CF because that's where the money was.

No, he's from Harrisburg, PA. He named his gym Catalyst Athletics. He won the 2012 Arnold Strongman.

I know Jenkins has got a lot heat but I see a lot of potential in Wildauer and Lalas. I'm curious to see if Wildauer has put on any mass. He was pretty impressive last year being fairly lean for his height. And Lalas is Big Z junior.

I think Thigpen re-tore a biceps in the first event of the qualifiers and was replaced by one of the backups.

You know how I know you're gay?

Seriously though-- no Misha? The world can burn.

Wildauer was impressive last year and he isn't the typical uberblocky strongman archetype.

Wildauer pulled 200kg age 15 after 4 months of lifting. How the fuck can anyone be expected to compete with that? It's just unfair.

LOL

Good to see you BJ.

And yeah it sucks but damn it's fun to watch the freaks.

I've been working EZ. I've somehow managed to land myself a job at a fucking decent company actually. I think I made a thread about it a while back. Anyway. Working 8:30-7 sucks balls. Between the job and a girlfriend, and this pesky judaism stuff, I barely have time to post or make it to the gym ever. I'm topping out on something shit like a 210kg beltless deadlift at something like 83kg bw. I plan on being unemployed when I'm older, and dividing my time between posting and lifting. Shaf, expect some PMs asking for advice.

And yeah. It's fun as hell to watch the freaks.

LMFAO @ the future Shaf challenge.

Good to hear. Take care. You get used to your schedule you'll make time to train.

I didn't look at it but that may help.

Looks like he finished 4th on every event after the first one.

Was recovering from a torn bicep this year and tow of the events he failed to excel at (stones and power stairs) were places I think he's done well in the past. IIRC he beat big Z on the stones to win it last year.

I can dig it.

I expected Jenkins to do better than he did. I'm surprised at Lalas's placing and yet I'm not. I also expected Hafthor to do better than 3rd. Wish we didn't have to wait until fucking next year to watch this shit. Hopefully someone will upload the full shows on youtube again like last year.

Hafthor is 23. Give him another 5 years...by that time Big Z will be getting older.

True true.

As long Big Z isn't feeding Lalas the same spinach that he's been eating all these years.

Those two, Jenkins and Shaw if they stay healthy will be powerhouses for a while. If the contests are focused toward max strength Lalas and Shaw will be beasts, if they go the way they are I can se Hafthor taking the edge....of course, if Magnus V.M. can get Hafthor's chemistry dialed in, who knows?
