Out of my three cats:
1. Momma Cat: 3-4 corpses on the porch a week. Most have are eviscerated and have select organs eaten. Mice, rats, and, when in season, baby rabbits.
2. Bad Baby: 4-5 corpses a week on the porch: Mice and small rats, mostly.
3. Fred: Fred's specialty is birds, 3-4 birds a week, 1-2 small mice a week.
"Shaf, why do you have so many damn rodents by your house?"
My neighbor is a fucking hoarder, his backyard is full of piles of stuff he bought for projects and never bothered doing. It's a happy hunting ground for the Shaf-Cats. Also, there are some green strip borders right behind my house, and they hunt those extensively as well. Fred stakes out the bird feeders, I don't know how he gets so many birds, they are 8-9 feet off the ground.
This spring, 15-18 baby rabbits were found in the back yard or on the back porch. The boxer ate one.

The vacant lot by the house I'm currently living in the attic of, is hugely over grown and full of stray cats .... My pit bull loves trying to get after them. She's the only apex predator on my block...

They do not kill too much. There are still rodents on our property.
3 cats:
one is a useless princess housecat who has never been outside and if she sees a mouse she only scares it to death, has no idea that it is food.
The other house cat used to bring home 4-5 kills a day, but she is kind of old and senile now and we don't let her outside anymore. I don't know what she is catching in the house because she consumes the whole body.
The gym cat is the Chuck Norris of cats. He has a cat door so he can come and go as he pleases. It is not unusual to go out there in the morning and find 2-3 squirrel or munk tails on the floor. I don't know how many mice because he leaves no trace with those. He seems to bring his kills back to the gym to consume them but this study indicates he might leave some of them where he kills them. He is very friendly and affectionate but sometimes I catch him looking at me...Small dogs are defintely not safe in the vicinity of this cat. He tried to drag a full sized rabbit through the cat door one day. It wouldn't fit. He ate the head and right front quarter just outside the cat door. I think he was full. He just left it there. Once in a while I find a great big pile of feathers on the floor. He has certainly solved the rodent problem in the gym.

The gigantic and infamous Fishbone used to catch full grown rabbits, eat his favorite parts, then leave the dismembered bodies scattered around the yard. He was a mean old Tom, and on more than one occasion came home bitten so badly, he formed huge pockets of puss under his skin

My first wife brought home a big, old (7-8 yrs) Maine Coone for me one of her professors had to give away. The cat's paws were as big as the palm of my hand; he weighed about 17 pounds. A couple days after we got him, I was sitting on the porch watching him, and he leapt off the ground and took a squirrel from the lowest branch of the tree, about six feet high. After that, I found two or three squirrels a week on the porch.

My cat, Jimmy, decimated the lizard population. As a result, under his reign of terror, we had many many insects and spiders in the house. And the bunnies, lots of dead bunnies. Which is probably why I was able to have a garden while he was alive. Hated the bugs, loved the tomatoes. Miss my Jimmy.

my grandfather had some big ass cat, maine coon? i dunno, it was a long time ago. whatever, this cat killed everything. birds, rats, rabbits. bodies everywhere, and a coupla times a week a trophy on their porch.
one day gramps came home and there was some kinda toy dog on the porch - chihuahua, pomeranian, something. never found out where it came from - they just buried it quietly in the yard.

I had a very smart Tonkanese once that would catch a mouse or bird, bite the top of its head off, suck out the brain and leave the rest on the porch. I think eating the brain only was why he was so smart.
