Legend of Conan

Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to once again crush his enemies, see them driven before him and to hear the lamentation of their women. Deadline reports that the actor, who starred in 1982's Conan the Barbarian and in 1984's Conan the Destroyer, will reprise his role as the Cimmerian warrior in The Legend of Conan, a new Robert E. Howard adaptation in the works from Universal Pictures.
Details are few on the plot of the new film, but it is said to ignore the events of both Conan the Destroyer and of the most recent reboot, 2011's Conan the Barbarian, which features "Game of Thrones" star Jason Momoa in the lead.

“The original ended with Arnold on the throne as a seasoned warrior, and this is the take of the film we will make,” producer Frederik Malmberg tells the site about where The Legend of Conan picks up. “It’s that Nordic Viking mythic guy who has played the role of king, warrior, soldier and mercenary, and who has bedded more women than anyone, nearing the last cycle of his life. He knows he’ll be going to Valhalla, and wants to go out with a good battle.”
Following his time in politics, Schwarzenegger has been lining up projects left and right. He recently starred in The Expendables 2 and will re-team with Sylvester Stallone in next year's The Tomb. Schwarzenegger can next be seen in The Last Stand, the english language debut of director Kim Jee-Woon, and is currently filming David Ayer's Ten, an action drama that revealed its first behind-the-scenes photo earlier today.

Malmberg and Chris Morgan are attached to produce The Legend of Conan. Morgan has already plotted the story himself and may also provide the screenplay, aiming for a summer 2014 release.

It will either be amazingly terrible or terribly amazing.

I don't think anything can ever approach the amazing convergence of Basil Polidouris, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Milius, and James Motherfucking Earl Jones...but if this was a thoughtful extension of that film I could be persuaded to watch.

It is a little sad that a 65 year old Arnold will be bigger and look more the part of Connan than whoever the fuck played him in the recent remake/reboot whatever... Just don't make them like they used to I guess

I will not argue, but Christopher Lee, Toshiro Mifune, and Slim Pickens came close!

CAT YOU MADE MY DAY!

I did not bother with the last one and The Destroyer is to be wiped from memory like Highlander 2.

I don't know about this. Getting flashbacks to Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. When the news comes out that "so-and-so" has been cast as Conan's son we will know it is amazingly awful.

Hope and Faith brother! Arnold is not the bleeding cunt Speilberg has become.

If it sucks though I say we get together and kill him. \:D/

I haven't seen a movie in the theater in nearly two years. Regardless of initial reviews and reactions from critics, it looks like Ill have to go and see this when it comes out, an judge for myself. Conan the Barbarian was a huge part of my childhood. The Destroyer sucked of course, but Barbarian was awesome. Here's hoping they don't fuck the whole thing up.

Written by the guy who penned the cinematic masterpiece Fast and Furious? I'm not optimistic.

I would love if they could shoot it so it resembled a live action Franzetta painting-- kind of like how Sin City resembled Frank Miller's art.

Honestly, I kind of like the F&F movies...except the one in Japan. The last one was dope.

One of the best laughs is to watch Conan the Barbarian on DVD with the commentary by Arnold and Milius. (Who is the God of real men flicks. Red Dawn, Conan, The Wind and the Lion, created Rome, ect.)

Right from the start, you think they are drinking beer and doing bong hits.

Milius: I am Arnold Swarz a nagger!

Arnold " I am John Milius the Great! Ha Ha And if you beleive that you also beleive there are lots of Richard Simmons Jr's running around!"

Or when they talk about how Sandhal Bergman hooked up with the Stunt coordinator as the Tower of Set scene is going down where she wraps the rope around the guys neck (The stunt boss) and tosses him down the shaft. Arnold said " Later Terry went down another shaft! Ha Ha Ha!"

The orgy scene.
Arnold: Remember when we shot that? It was so great with people banging everywhere and then you yelled Action!"

Hands down the best commentary ever.

Bruce Campbell as Elvis on the Bubba HoTep dvd is a close second.
