A college buddy who morphed into a Republican said after Obammy won the election.
It's all the same. 4 more years of the last 16 years

My little town, as diverse as it is, has white people hiding and crying, blacks and hispanics celebrating and the Muslims not really caring.
HUGE religous movement to defeat Obama and make Rockford into Mayberry.
On the bright side I met a lady with cancer whose insurance company was going to drop her. Now she gets to continue treatment without loosing the farm.

So, what's the worst? We become more like Canada? More like a country in the European Union? We sure aren't going to be like Russia or China.
This shit cycles back and forth. I thing nut ball religion is on the downswing, thus Obama winning the election easily.
In fact the whole GOP looks fucking fishy. This was the one thing they could do to get a Repub in the whitehouse and that is the fucking campaign they came up with. Lulz. We are all fucking marks

We'll see something critical by the end of the year if Obama, Reid, and Boehner come up with some good fiscal reforms vs. going over the cliff. He'll cause all kinds of regulatory misery but that can be addressed by president Rubio in 2016.
While I'm viscerally disgusted by O, if the parties act like adults as they occasionally do, maybe we just get gloom instead of doom. As you say, we'll see.

When Bush won 2004 the same doom-and-gloom came from the liberal camp. Though not with the threats of armed resistance and warnings to build up bunkers for the Apocalypse. He managed to perpetuate a lot of bad shit and topped it off with the financial crisis, but it wasn't jackboots and camps. The crying about TOTAL RACEWAR sounds about as silly as the moaning back then.

If the people who threatened to leave the country back then, and the ones who threatened to leave this time, would actually do so, America would be a much better place for the rest of us.

LOL, Like the European union? They're going down the same sewer.
If you don't give a two shits about our Constitution and our founding principals, fine. I guess we could emulate Germany, who seem to have a proper sense of proportion. However, they also have a demographic catastrophe looming. At one point there isn't enough workers to pay for all the retirees and welfare layabouts.
Even then, the sad fact is we aren't Germany. We have a large subset of dumb shits who refuse to improve their lives and take the opportunities this country affords people. We rank in the bottom of everything in the developed world because our black population and the mestizo latins we have imported in the USA. These two subset account for a disapportionate share of every negative social ill we have. Plus, we have a bunch of white, gilt riddled, hipster douche bag dumb asses, with no common sense who are willing to give to them.
What these groups want is "Jackpot" socialism. They have no interest in a safety net, where their dumb asses work and pay taxes. What they have been promised, and what they want, is a safety Bark O Lounger; with free healthcare, free worthless liberal arts degrees, free food, free housing, free phones, easy government jobs and enough Gvt money to to stay entertained. On top of it, they want want someone else to pay for it.
If you're thinking we're going to have some sort of sane "welfare" state, you're in for a rude awakening.

People should be scared of what parts of Obamacare are going to do to the job market and economy. Some of it has already begun

I've already aired my greivances with Obama, but I'll succinctly restate them: Sky's-the-limit-pepetual entitlements when the country is beyond broke for eternity and the infiltration and influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in top levels of our government. I find that, frankly, terrifying.
I don't think we'll go the way of Canada or Europe, personally. I do think our debt makes our situation unique and our position as the soon-to-be-lessened preeminent World power has far worse ramifications for the world if we slip off into the abyss, which seems inevitable to me at this point. The election proved to me we don't even know the danger we're in, so how could we have the unified national will to do something about our problems?
Obama doesn't have to care about re-election now, so there's no reason for him to exercise restraint - not that he was ever really doing that.
Would Romney have been any better? I think so, even if it was a marginal difference. Would it matter in the long run? Who knows - maybe and probably not.
Based on our national obsession with celebrity, the lackluster results we are getting out of our schools and our national reluctance to embrace personal responsibility, I tend to think the country is due the ass-kicking I think it's going to get. I get no particular joy in saying that, but I'm also pragmatic. The people have spoken and made it very clear which direction they want to go. I'll never say anything so stupid as "Well, he's not my president." He is, whether I like it or not. And I don't, but I respect the office and the decision that was handed in November 6.
But yeah, leaving the country... where you gonna go to escape this mess if you're Joe Dirt like me?

Yep, get ready for layoffs and people having their hours cut back below 30 hours.
When you expect someone else to pay for your free shit, don't be surprised when that "someone else" refuses to simply stand there are take it.

Fucking tea partiers just want handouts in the form of tax reductions.
Drug greeting for welfare costs more than just letting the druggies go.
Welfare reform is needed.
Bringing out the Obammycare senior death panels

How about this, try freedom, responsibility and industriousness.
Everyone is free to speak their minds, free to associate with who they please, free to keep the fruits of their labor/property, free to bear arms (protection from other citizens and government) & free from (government and fellow citizens) intrusion and intimidation.
With freedom comes responsibility. When you make stupid choices, man the fuck up and you alone pay the consequences. Leave the Government and the ret us out of it. If you need Charity (and some times you need it) turn to your family, friends, church and non profit organizations. They are going to be more understanding and beneficial to your situation than any Governmnet program. Using Government as a charity organization is not charity, but organized theft to force others to do what you failed to do through the free exchange of ideas and moral persuasion.
If you are unlucky enough to be born without a silver spoon shoved up your ass, have the stones to go out and take advantage of our system. The USA has got to be he most upwardly mobile society on earth. The advantages and opportunities are almost endless. Those that sit around an d bemoan their positions in life are lazy and or ignorant. Industriousness pays off in the USA. We don't pigeon hole people like they do in other countries. A friend of mine is a German immigrant. He describes the USA has he land of unlimited second chances. In Germany, if you fuck up in HS and you don't have money or political connections; forget about going to College. Someone else will decide your trajectory in life.
BTW, white bread. If you think you're going to be able to ride out the coming storm unprepared and unarmed, you're about as delusional as the fucking savages that are looting our country.

Why do people on welfare get to vote? If you're not contributing shit then you should have no say. Personally, I think votes should be weighted by how many tax dollars you pay. Someone who's putting in $1-million in taxes should have more of a say in where the money goes than someone who's putting in $100.

So everyone that voted Democratic/Obama "wants something for free"? Bullshit. Fox News talking point.
I dare say I make on the far north end of most folks here. Graduate degrees. I'm not looking for a handout. I'm not a hood rat or someone that's looking for someone else to pave the way for me. I simply made the best election choice of two bad choices: Obama.
I'm old enough to remember Reagan getting elected and people saying it was the end of the world. And it wasn't.
Clinton saw a budget surplus and the strongest economy since the 50's. Bush oversaw record deficits and running the economy in to the ground. Tell me again why Republicans are the prudent financial managers. Tell me again why Republicans, supposedly "small government" want to limit reproductive rights and insist on infusing religion in to a platform that as an atheist I could never support.
I'm sure people were just as hysterical when McKinley got elected in 1896, but they just didn't have the megaphones of Fox News, Twitter and FaceBook to complain from.

First, according IGx I'll have no problem fitting in appearance wise with the hordes. Secondly, I'm not an Armegedon Mad Max end of the world day dreamer.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out, that a desperate welfare state government will slash non entitlement government spending and raise taxes. This will mean a lot fewer cops & deap deap cuts to real government infrastructure. This plus, millions out of work dip shits (thathave been fed on class warfare slogans), a gutted law enforcement/judicial system; means a ton more crime, riots, etc. Unless you have money and or political connections you'll be on your own.
Can't happen? Take a look at Argentina; they are our future. Take a look at post WWI Germany. Take a look at the riots that happened in the UK last year.

Why not. Starshiptrooper is nothing more than a thesis on the concept of liberty and citizenship. You have to have a stake in society in order to a be real citizen.
Wealth
Age
Race
Gender
are all imperfect ways of trying to have an educated or at least engaged voting pool. The discussion evolves in the book on how do you balance equal opportunity with having a stake in society. It comes down to at one point putting your life on the line for society at large. If you do that, you have earned the right and knowledge of the sacrifice to be a real citizen.
This concept that you get the right to vote because you won the genetic lottery is crazy. Being a citizen involves being willing to personnaly sacrifice your life for the tribe.

It's slightly better this time as it's more LOL worthy hearing people they are going to Canada to avoid Obamacare or to Australia to be in a Christian nation.
