No matter what,
it doesn't look good.
Kevin Clash, the actor behind Sesame Street's Elmo since 1985, has taken a leave of absence after allegations surfaced that he had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy.
Clash admits he had a relationship with his accuser, now 23, but he told TMZ that he was of legal age at the time.

Not to worry guys, Sesame Street did an investigation and found no signs of wrong doing. No need to involve the authorities or anything.
Because, you know, the first thing you think of when an allegation of child molestation arrises is conducting your own criminal investigation and then calling the cops. Puppeteers, TV production, criminal investigators; it's all the fucking same thing.

A man who accused Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash of having sex with him when he was a teenage boy has recanted his story.
In a quick turnabout, the man on Tuesday described his sexual relationship with Clash as adult and consensual.
Clash responded with a statement of his own, saying he is "relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest." He had no further comment.
The man, who has not identified himself, released his statement through the Harrisburg, Pa., law firm Andreozzi & Associates.
Sesame Workshop, which produces "Sesame Street" in New York, soon followed by saying, "We are happy that Kevin can move on from this unfortunate episode
