I thought this might be of interest to some of you guys, especially you old guys like Cahill who will never have a chance to see it in person.

I gotta say, it doesn't look that big. If I didn't have a fear of heights I'd probably take it on for shits & giggles.

Hey Timmah...so when click on this link and it brings the picture up describe the route everyone takes to the top if'n you don't mind. At what elevation are all the tents you see?

Shape,
All the tents are base camp. In the May climbing season, there are at least 1000 tents. It's the start of the climb, at 17,500 feet.
The conventional route starts at base camp and goes up the Khumbu Ice Fall, this enormous glacier pouring off the side of the mountain. Camp one at top. Then through the Western Cvm (a big valley that I'm told reflects sun off snow and literally gets sorta hot) to the base of the Lotse wall. Camp 2 there.
The Lotse wall, an ice cliff climbed with ropes. At top, Camp 3.
Camp 4, is at the South Col, in the "Death Zone." You make the summit attempt from there.
This is a really good explanation of the route:

So how does the altitude affect the proper dose of ether and/or Rohyphenol?

Dunno. I was twisted on Diamox.

Pretty much the same thing. Broken rocks fallen off a higher place, like a cliff.

I'd love to hollow that shit out and build my secret lair for world domination.
