Boker Knives

I'm looking to buy a few Boker pocket knives as groomsmen's gifts... They are pretty expensive. I'm not really a knife guy, are they worth it?
Here's the one:

My first impulse was to check KnifeCenter for pricing, but it's not as far off as I expected:

Looks like something you stab a mexican with outside a honky tonk our a concrete blonde at a truckstop who cheats you.

Stag and exotic woods are expensive. If you want to keep the price down, look for something with a micarta or G-10 handle.

I randomly got sucked in into a 3 week rabbit hole figuring on making my own micarta...tons for great info out there and lots of weirdos high on epoxy fumes to give you custom recipes. Then I remembered I don't even know how to temper my own leaf spring steel blade...ergo, I had no need of these new skills.
fucking internet.

Tempering a blade is not that difficult if you have a torch, a temp stick, and some old motor oil. And you don't have to have a leaf spring or railroad spike since you can order knife blanks for a decent price.

I did this with DIY kydex holsters. About a week into looking at presses and heat guns and an extra toaster oven I decided that I didn't need a holster for every knife, pen and gun I own, I'll be just fine ordering from JM Custom or Raven.

I have no idea what the last five posts are even about but I saw something about huffing which can be fun every now and then.
I want to get my buddies something nice, something that says "thank you" for shelling out a lot of money for a tux and my bachelor party as well as showing them that I appreciate their friendship and all that sappy horseshit. I want them to have something more than a beer mug or a hip flask. I'm happy to spend the cash if I am giving them something that they'll hang on to for the next 10-15 years (or more).
So, am I paying a ton of money for a bone handle and a name or are these the quality of knife that a guy could get regular use out of for a while?

srry for the derail.
Knives are personal. I have a POS carbon handle SWAT model (savor the irony) made by S&W that I just love becuase the blade stays sharp and is easily retouched. If you find one that speaks to you, go with it. I think Boker makes pretty decent blades and it's a classic shape for sure.

Better steel wears longer before you need it totally resharpened. Details will be nicer with a Boker/etc. than a cheap-o - the lock will be smoother, etc..
You're not really paying for the name, but the stag is costly. You probably won't find anything similar that's a better deal than the Boker you're looking at.
KnifeCenter and BladeHQ are the ways to go for good prices.

Yep. Made a few file and stock knives. Not nearly as hard as I used to think.
Back on topic.....The Boker blades I have seen were very nice and seemed like a good solid piece.

Thanks guys. I ordered from Blade HQ and KnifeCenter and ended up going w/ 4 different finishes: rosewood, thuya wood, bone, and black micarta so each guy has essentially the same knife but they're sort of personalized. I'll try to remember to post a service update for those two websites once everything is sorted out.
Any other ideas on wtf to buy these dudes?

It's a guy thing. I've done more than my share of stupid shit, and passed the gene onto my son. He never made a knife in his life and took on making a broad sword for his first blade project. It turned out pretty nice to look at. I've been toying with the idea of making a longbow out of pvc pipe since I've watched it done on youtube and said, I could do that. Just to show how practical this would be, I have 3-4 bows sitting in my basement that haven't been drawn in about 5 years now.

Boker make some nice gents folders. A more reasonable option for you might be the Boker Plus
Exskelimoor. The handles have a wood finish but are actually g10. It also comes in two sizes.
The Boker Plus
Exskelibur is another similar option but the handle scales are black.
Edit. Whoops didn't see that you already ordered.
