I recommend getting a two-year (or longer) membership. That way they don't start pestering you to renew your membership after the first week.

I don't need no NRA membership. I keep all my guns 2nd ammendment or not.

I've been meaning to do this for a long time but kept forgetting. Joined today. Also plan to join a NY group as well.
And, as mentioned elsewhere, I wrote my state senator regarding forthcoming gun control legislation.

We're in a critical moment and it's time to act. Those of us who are conservative when it comes to the Bill of Rights have been complacent too long in the BushBama administrations. It's time to let them know that no more encroachment will be allowed. None.

* Reach out to our representatives individually
* Engage in group outreach to our representatives

Went to the local gun show today-- maybe it's fear of Obama or the ignorance of local consumers, but prices were universally ridiculous.

If I have my history correct, a lot of the early gun laws were specifically designed to keep the southern black man unable to defend himself against the white man's depredations.

Also interesting to me that libs want to keep honest black men in the hood unarmed when the poor bastards are surrounded by ultra-armed gang bangers and police that aren't typically johnny on the spot in their neighborhoods. Even more interesting that many blacks want that patronizing and emasculating treatment.

The ultra-armed gang-bangers are small players in the grand scheme of things. They are the equivalent of the people taking your order in a fast-food joint. The people who are the equivalent of the same fast-food joint's upper management doesn't live in the ghetto and spends part of their proceeds to keep politicians in office.

You have one attempted shoe bomber and ever since you have to take off your shoes every time you get on a plane but gun control isn't even in the discussion following yet another school shooting. The reason, of course, is that if people are scared of flying, they don't get on planes as frequently and the economy takes a dip. As tragic as school shootings are, they have no economic impact - other than perhaps a bump in guns and ammo sales as scared people stock up - and, therefore, politicians really couldn't give a shit.
