Has anyone lost their jobs in the LAPD for shooting those two women during the Christopher Dorner rampage? Except for regaining his freedom, that poor guy doesn't look like money is going to improve his mental state.

Holding government employees accountable is wrong because they donate too much money to politicians.

No, but the police chief bought them off by giving them a new truck, which was a nice publicity move b/c if the victims reject it and sue, they look ungrateful, and if they accept it and sue anyway, they look greedy.
Defendants are learning more and more to do this type of thing (eg, BP's setting up a "victim's fund" after an oil spill).
