Sitting at a bar and saw this commercial come on, thought it was a Reebok/Crossfit commercial, but was ASICS doing a ripoff.

It's not really crossfit. Their coach drinks vodka, not gin.

I noticed that commercial on TV too and thought it was Crossfit. So what's the deal? Is it or isn't it? I was under the impression that Crossfit had a deal with Reebok.

There is no ability to patent it. It is like the first rule of fight club or whatever. Greg told the world that "what Dan John does is crossfit." At the time, we were doing O lifting, sprints, carries, powerlifts and basic stuff. So, logically, I should sue you if you do any of it.

That is actually a good commercial, but a lot of people are going to get hurt trying to look like the girl saying "next" a lot. This leads to an another funny discussion...

Asics can market their shoes to whatever audience they want. As long as they don't mention Xfit or put Xfit on the shoes there shouldn't be issues. Anyone can make basketball shoes but as soon as you start to put Jordan's name or image on them you will be in trouble.

We really need to get organized and form IGXfit with a D.O.W. (Daily Organized Workout).

Non of this will matter until an @fit authorized, public Glassassination takes place, by either Caligula himself, or one of his "legal" minions.

How will "Free Market" couch respond if ASICS offers to sponsor some professional exercisers ? Could he stop individual boxes from pushing ASICS in their "non-franchise" facilities?

Since my step dad suggested (and so I did it) doing Lunges, Push ups, Leg Lifts and then climb up and down the apple tree in back when I started working out, does that mean I was doing CrossFit?
