I bought her full set of cookware last Xmas. I will be looking for more ways to support this fine Southern-American in her time of persecution.

Stakes just got higher in Next Food Network Star show. There's a southern girl in the running, but no way they'd pick one since they already had one...until now.

Nafod. Do you and PL54 know that Captain Crunch isn't a Captain? Only has 3 stripes...lowly Commander.

It truly hurts me when Obama supporters and campaigners get fired for Political Un-correctness.

Can't we all just get along?

Put a Paleo show on Food Network hosted by a Republican who called Bush a dumbass.

Next.

Depends: commanding officer on a Naval vessel is referred to as Captain regardless of actual rank.

A friend of mine was bitching at me on Facebook, one of maybe 2 Marines I know who say they voted for Obama and says he usually votes "For the party that helps the poor, the Dems."

And then a few weeks later he is going off about how high his taxes are and how the 2nd Amendment is under assault.

People took cooking advice from her? Did she have anything that wasn't deep fried?

She can make a cheesecake that will make you cry. Partially from pleasure, partially from lower intestinal distress.

But, god forbid I ever get called on what I say to friends in private. Anorexics and child abusers would be suing me out the yin-yang.

I'm the most liberalist-lib-that-ever-libbed and even I don't think shit someone says back in the day or during a private conversation should be any of our concern, provided: they aren't trying to run for office.

Buttertits McGee wasn't going to be on a ticket anytime soon, so this whole thing should have been over before it began. To save face, her network could have had her issue a straight forward, simple apology and wait two fucking days for the American psyche to collectively forget the entire ordeal.

Who among our kind has not been compelled to rail against the nigger beast? Should we expect no more or less from this Southern Belle purveyor of chicken fried culinary delights and butter soaked goodies?

OK, I hadn't really paid attention but assumed, from reading headlines but not clicking through, that this woman had gone on an alcohol or coke-fueled rank against blacks and Mexicans and had a long history of hiring whites only.

I dare people to find a 66-year old white woman from the south who hasn't said 'nigger' at least once, even a "very long time" ago. I remember my father telling me about some song from elementary school that used the word over and over again - he was't from the south and said that he didn't even know what the song meant until he was older.

This is why I don't read the rags - my prediction is that she is going to be back on the air within the month. The network is obviously concerned about backlash from sponsors though hillbilly cooking shows are going to be fine with whatever she said and are going to push back.

You know I heard that word used towards blacks in general more in Upstate, NY as a kid then I did during my summers in Va. around the same years and in my teens in South Florida, and down there many made the distinction between black folks and niggers when they did.

My 92 year old, mean as piss grandmother called some guy a worthless nigger the other day.

Never mind that he wasn't a nigger. A Samoan from what anyone could tell. So not far off, but still...

My grandmother was always a shitty cook, though. Other than chicken and dumplings. She could cook the shit out of chicken and dumplings.

It's sort of like the word 'faggot'. You remember using that as a kid? Perhaps around third grade..."screw you, Darth, you're such a faggot....did you see GI Joe yesterday?" "Stop being such a stupid faggot...no way that I would ever trade you Joe Montana for Michael Clayton and Phil Simms."

I don't walk around using the word today but if people are vilified for what they have said in the past, not a lot of us would be clean.

We called everyone Fagggot and Queer!

People who want to ban words should be beaten with a stick until nothing can come out of their mouths but drool and grunts. It's a word.

Nigger is like Cunt. Is it a word I throw around freely in conversation with people I don't know or mere acquaintances? No, unless they are acting like one.

Now can I see a decent black person being pissed and irate if they are called a nigger? You bet! But If he's offended if I refer to or call a piece of Kazbait a nigger, I give not a fuck.

When your equality was granted by us, you got what was important and you don't have the right to not be offended any more than anyone else. It was supposed to be about equality, right? Good, your equal, fuck you too.

the problem with nigger and faggot is that they are less colorful and evocative than many alternatives, and therefore lacking in social value.

to listen to a couple of hung over eye-talian roofers at frank the barber's unleash a rant about moulies on a saturday morning--that was not incorrect, that was an education.

The problem isn't what she said, it's that you fuckers know who she is. Andy I can understand, but is everybody on this board retired already?
