Google has informed me that they have prevented a suspicious sign in to my email. I reviewed recent sign ins and found attempts attempts from Reston, VA, Sante Fe, NM and Boise. (I'm presently in CA with my computer and phone.)

I changed my password. Is that all I have to do? What's this shit all about?

Don't worry- it's either a psycho ex girlfriend, or spiders running on a bot net with nodes in those cities trying to break into your shit. Keep your password complex, and you'll be fine. This kind of thing happens all the time, very common.

Definitely make your password something complicated like "password"

Google offers two-step verification that you ought to use. Seriously on this one.

I second this. It's easy to use and will help ensure that no one but you, Google and the government can read your emails.

Also, go to "settings" and be sure the 'always use HTTPS' is clicked.

And, oh yeah, you may want to use another password than the one you use here at this site.
