That's not even that weird, when you think about it.

I can't recall where I read this but I remember reading something a couple of years ago about how there was a transcript of an interview L Ron Hubbard did back in 1981 where he admitted that he created Scientology as a joke.

That seems like a lot of trouble to go through to preserve stuff that could just be scanned and loaded onto a flash drive.

I read similar stories about this place years ago, so it's not like The Mail has ripped the lid off or anything. The high-res photos - which are kind of cool because you can see the magnitude of the scam (hundreds of millions spent to preserve the 'wisdom' of a hack writer and a con man and absolutely nobody around to partake in the excess) - are the only new thing here.
The complex was built around the time Hubbard had completely gone b.s.-insane and was basically a drug-addled zombie. There was coup to get control of his empire and this was built pre-internet (which is the Achilles heel of these folks). At the time of the building, this was fairly easy to keep secret and their Gestapo-like control of adherents and intimidating tactics used on anyone who asked to many questions had been perfected. Enter 'the internets' and the erosion has taken off faster than anyone could have predicted.
Love that all their little goofy secrets are known now, though. Anybody who doesn't know how crazy the whole enterprise is has to be living under a rock.

This would make a helluva compound for Greg Glassman's empire now. He could incorporate 10k's in the desert into his Master WOD's.

The two giant overlapping circles, each with a diamond in them, are believed to have been trademarked by the Church of Technology, a branch of Scientology.
They're robot stripper tits, that much is obvious.
