Instead, he was arrested, admitted his guilt and unanimously sentenced to death by a jury of his (military) peers. I am not sure what part of that process a civil person would have a problem with. If you really wanted to see him die, you could argue that he be tried in Texas, where he would stand a far greater chance of being executed but, hey, who is to get the way of your bestiality fantasies.

There are legitimate gov't benefits and a societal honor associated with death in combat. An admitted sleeper warrior for Allah infiltrated an American military base and went on a killing spree. The Obama administration designated it as "workplace violence" instead of what it was.

Obama has denied appropriate benefits and honors to the victims of an enemy attack, and even after the trial continues to deny it to them. If he changes the victims status post-trial, I'll change my opinion of him in this case. Until then, I'll consider it among the worst and most disgusting of his offenses.

The specifics of what happens to Hasan are secondary to me.
