Hey you idiots, any ideas on how to save on cell phone bills? (besides getting rid of them altogether)

I've got a contract and multiple phones on the contract. I have unlimited data I think and I like that. I don't thikn it adds too much to the overall bill but could be wrong.

Any way to get out from under a contract, save money, and still have good service/access to porn, I mean, "the web"?

I'd start by reading your bill and seeing what costs what.

And I'm with shape.

Had lucky charms for breakfast though.

Simplest way to save money is to pay cash for older phones and go with a non-contract provider.

If you have a contract or you're tied into the yearly iPhone upgrade cycle, you're fucked.

Thanks, but I never take advice from people with "sz" in their names. Not racist, just prudent.

You may not need unlimited data we thought we did but when we looked at our bill we used hardly any. Most of the time our phone jumps to our wifi at home, the gym and even hotels we routinely stay at.

Check how much data you actually consume, as well as minutes and texts and go from there.

I get a phone from my employer, but I have my spouse and two teens on T-Mobile. They share 1500 minutes (and never use more than about 200). Have unlimited texting (a must with teens) and each phone has unlimited data but only 2GB of high speed (4G) data. After 2 gigs, data slows down considerably.

I buy the phones outright, and not roll them as part of the plan. $106 per month for the three.

Is it cheaper to buy used phones or whtever rather than buying them through your provider? I think we get discounts on phones every year or two when it's time to renew. The crappy ones are free I think.

How do you buy a used phone and make it work on your network?

I may need to hire a tech guy.

The obvious question is, how well would you tolerate Blackberries?

Buy your phone straight-up. Don't get a new phone from your provider that is 'discounted' because that's how you get stuck in those rotten plans to begin with. Make sure the phone is unlocked when you buy it. Don't buy a locked phone. This is crucial. A locked phone is the provider's way of controlling you and keeping you from switching.

Get Straight Talk. Unlimited everything for $45-a-month.

Do what the bruthas do. Get on with Cricket, and have a fat white bitch pay the $45/month all-inclusive plan.
