Really really.
He was on the ballot, but then because of some technicality on time in residence, he was removed from the ballot. At which point he did a write in campaign.

I'm trying to think of a humerous saying, maybe the baccalaureates here can help.

Being mayor of a bankrupt city is like __________?

"Being a lesbian's boyfriend"
"ordering a Gino's pizza, but the oven is broken"
etc.

North of Detroit, in Flint, they elected a convicted murderer who did 19 years in prison, a convicted felonious assault, and two women who had previously files for bankruptcy to their city council.
