This is another instance of the political system in America failing.

There are 99 reasons to criticize Obama but the pic ain't one. He got to skate through re-election because any kind of political opposition couldn't address any real issues and instead focused on birther questions for the better part of five years. Now, it's pressing issues such as his wife's clothing selection, the fact that his kids have secret service protection and him taking a picture of himself.

Did you see any of the memorial? It was something like five hours, included singing and dancing and was held in a 100k seat football stadium. Was the picture taken as they were reading through the accomplishments of Mandela's life or during a song or perhaps when they were finished and getting ready to leave?

Pictures of that sort are lame but I don't see that it was any lamer here than at the beach or on the bus.
