Might have to give up beer for booze

Evidence seems to be pointing that I feel kinda shitty the mornings after I overendulge in beer as opposed to spirits.

Not sure how I feel about this, because I love beer.

Tried changing beers (what brands/breweries you drink)?

Get drunk on liquor, keep it going with beers
or hair of the dog
nb, I'm probably not the best person from whom to take drinking advice

In the last couple of years beer just doesn't sit well with me. I feel bloated and gross after more than half a pint. Wine and straight liquor for me these days mostly.

I am not looking to be a stumble bum drunken hero, rather just enjoy the nice buzz it gives me. Scotch certainly does it faster if I want, the issue is that I want to drink whatever is in my hand quickly.

So, scotch and sodas. No point wasting some fancy 40 yo single malt that way, but it's a perfectly cromulent drink.

Wine suits me well. Nice with dinner or just a buzz while watching UFC or Me TV. Too much wine makes me feel like shit,.. then I wake up and find out I've been texting/messaging people I shouldn't be with statements that are bizarre. They seem logical at the time and my grammar is actually good too,.. so go figure.
Vodka is good if it's not cheap stuff. My Russian connections turned me on to Beluga.

Uh, I have no idea what you mean. :). I have to enforce a strict "look but don't comment" policy for myself. Which doesn't always work. ;)

A thought:
Sounds like the taste of the spirits isn't what you're looking for. You want something in your hand, you want a little buzz and you drink fast.

So maybe try the spirit of your choice in a big glass with a lot of water. (Soda drives the alcohol into your system faster: go for water.) It might work.

Giving up beer is a sad sad thing.

Something in the same ballpark that I discovered this last summer is ciders. There are more and more of them reaching the market with a variety of tastes. In the heat I prefer cider to beer now.

Move to wa or co and give up booze completely. Much cheaper and no hangovers or dui's.

I loved beer, any of it from Natural Ice to Guinness. But, I was the same way Shaf. It started to make me feel like a total bag of ass for days after I would get on a nice one. Just to note, I was a drunkard. I would stay drunk from Friday night to Sunday evening.

For me now, if I want a little buzz all I have to do is step down to the barn, take a swing or two from an old mason jar and I am set all without feeling and looking like road kill.

I have found that I am now a two drink man. More than that, and I'll not sleep as well. More than that, and I'll have a headache the next day. Kind of a bummer, but kind of good in a way, too.

Beer just gets in the way of what you're trying to accomplish on all levels. Hard Liquor is the OTW for those of you who don't slam it like sweet tea on a hot Louisiana Sunday.
