60 pages down, about 1200 to go...

Sorry I haven't been more active, life and continuing education has gotten in the way.

I spent months passing Network+ certification tests and it didn't do me a damned bit of good at work, even though they insisted I get it, so fuck 'em. Going the Cisco Route (pun!) (CCNA, CCNP and up) and go work for someone else for (hopefully) a lot more money and satisfaction. (Cracking PCs gets old after 6 years).

Got Wendell Odom's 2 volume set with a training lab\simulator from Amazon, started on it this week. I know it won't be enough, will have to build an actual lab at some point, but it's a start.

Actually it's mostly review at this point...Network+ wasn't a total waste of time, forced me to learn the models and Ethernet and wireless standards, etc.

So if anyone wonders (not likely, I know), that's where I'll be.

You should have no higher goal in life than maintaining your IGx Training Log. Highly entertaining, I liked the food & exercise stuff. Reviews of bad movies too.

Been there done that on the routing and switching. If you can pass the network+ you can pass the CCENT half of the CCNA. Just make sure you know the various show commands and port numbers. For the second test (the actual CCNA) you definitely want to know EIGRP and OSPF commands, mostly OSPF. The rest is terminology questions and spanning tree stuff. Highly recommend CBT Nuggets for studying.
