So, is Jordan going to unleash total war? http://www.cnn.com/2015/02/03/world/isi ... index.html

I don't know much about the region, but I to think that kind of execution was for the purposes of getting people riled up.

Curious as to where this leads.

I watched Catherine Herridge report on this today. She'd watched the video and you could tell she'd seen and heard things that can't be unseen or unheard.

So there is an entire culture that thinks this is acceptable?

I wonder if this was their goal. Get someone else to execute a woman so they wont be the first.

All of these countries have governments that have executed and tortured and systematically raped women.

People are flipping out on the Internet advocating total war. Peanut allergies are more dangerous to Americans by an order of magnitude than ISIS.

Seems like maybe we missed an opportunity to grind up some Ebola corpses and shower the general area with the gore.

You have got to be shitting me.

We could save damn near 40k American lives a year by banning cars as well. One totally unrelated statistic doesn't change the fact that we cannot allow animals like this to breath our air.

History is going to see GWB as a genius. Invade Iraq, completed destabilize the region by creating a power vacuum, allowing groups like ISIS to do shit that gets the rest of the Muslim world pissed off and demanding revenge which means...teaming up with the US for a few moments. The US gets cheap deals on oil and gets to use countries who aren't afraid to do dirty work to clean up the mess.

This could possibly save her life. They were going to execute her anyway. Now, she's in the public view and the US and UK will intervene and tell Jordan not to stoop to the level of ISIS.

Can we ALL agree to stop believing in that cowardly little vice called god and the afterlife...

Please?

It's actually quite a simple thing for an adult to do. If we can all do it, this and whole lot of other bad stuff is immediately bankrupt.

We do all understand that such beliefs are nothing more than a tool used by the controlling class to have us fear and hate each other - in order to, err, control us.. As adults, we do all see that don't we?

Is there anyone that doesn't see that? Don't be shy now, it's OK to be a bit slow...

How about when it's a little dark at night and those silly infantile fears of the boogyman come back..? You know, you might sorta, kinda, start thinking that there's a grey bearded man on a cloud who is listening to you tell him how much of a fraidy cat you really are, and he'll keep the scary things safely under your bed. Do you do that, ever, maybe, just little?

Or perhaps when you want to prosper! Yeah prosperity, thars sumpin else he promises..! You ever been down there on 'bended knee', asking the grey bearded god man for new Camaro, and a sofa to keep your god fearin wife happy... Yeah, you know how you do a little bit of that every now and then?

How about the way every president has to 'thank god' for things and swear an oath 'to god', and how they have to be good christians to get into power and control us? You know how you can only vote for em if theyz be believin an all???

FUCKING STOP IT!!!

STOP ALL OF IT!

STOP!

Stop...

Please.

We'll never know how the Bush Plan would have worked out because Obama abandoned Iraq.
A model similar to the Bush Plan seems to have worked for Nazi Germany, Hirohito's Japan, and in South Korea.

The US doesn't have the political willpower to see anything like those plans through today.

Cool.
But as you bleat your indignation, shock and disgust at what these people have done in the name of pretendy beliefs please know that, as one who feeds the pretendy machine, you are not part of the solution...

Islam isn't the cause of the problem, no religion is the cause of the problem, these are symptoms. The cause of the problem is in the individuals need for religion, and indulging such childish stupidity... While ever religion is necessary, while ever there is a childish notion of the pretendy, so too will be these vile acts of humanity again humanity. When we grow to realise there is no need for pretendy, there will be no pretendy. Then there is only humanity, and we will be closer to eliminating acts of in-humanity.

You are probably right. If 9/11 didn't stiffen our spines, what would? I shudder to think.

I wish you were correct but I don't think so. God or no God isn't the issue. One of the problems with Homo sapiens is that we haven't evolved past our astounding innate viciousness. God is just a cover to allow us to do what we want to do anyway and what we want to do is often horrendous. Destroy every religion today and the carnage continues unabated tomorrow. It's part of who and what we are.

I'm not familiar with this concept of pretendy.

Are all atheists alike? Since we're painting with a ridiculously broad brush here...

You listed pseudo-religious fairy tales used by some clergy and politicians, not truly religious beliefs and concepts. God's not a problem, believing in exclusivity of access to God is.

Here we go... I had a feeling that my post would elicit the kind of logic usually reserved for kindergarten children and rabid extreme feminists...

(edited)

...Can't believe I just spent 30 minutes with a rational rebuttal only to realise that you guys got me. It doesn't matter what I write does it?
What is it they say, faith can never be reached by the caravan of rational thought... Or something like that.

Smet we are talking about the same thing. I am taking it back another step... The need to believe in a god allows for the problems you speak of. No need means bankrupting those issues (yes humanity has many others, but at least we remove one that can be seen now days as unnecessary). It also links in with new findings about connection and addiction.

Anyhow, back to the panem et circenses...

Boys and girls, please stop the silliness before someone else gets hurt. Please don't get angry, it's just an idea - and how dangerous can an idea be?

That is all.
