“Today, 99 percent of all new income is going to the top 1 percent,” Mr. Sanders said in a news conference in the Capitol to introduce legislation that would break up the banks that are deemed “too big to fail.”

“The top one-tenth of 1 percent now owns almost as much wealth as the bottom 90 percent," he said.

“If an institution is too big to fail, it is too big to exist, and that is the bottom line,” Mr. Sanders said.

Already enough Jews in Washington...how do you think things got this fucked up? I guess it's a bunch of Iowa farm boys, and their distant cousins from Harlem and Mexico running Wall Street, the Federal Reserve System, the congressional lobbying system, etc?

Nyet.

. . . during his inaugural campaign appearance on ABC News' "This Week With George Stephanopoulos" . . . Sanders cited Denmark, Norway and Sweden as exemplars of the democratic socialism to which he subscribes. Stephanopoulos said, "I can hear the Republican attack ad right now: 'He wants America to look more like Scandinavia.'"

"That's right. That's right. And what's wrong with that?" Sanders asked, highlighting the region's economic strengths.

Bernie is going nowhere and everybody knows it.

What boggles my mind is how Hillary is going to run based on those facts. She was part of the problem she now says need to be solved.

He's old enough where this is his last run and he's not going to win ergo...

There is no reason for him to not begin referring to himself as "The Sandman" and cutting heel promos on Hillary. I'd like him to walk out to Enter Sandman at all campaign appearances but that might be something he needs a little time to get used to doing.

Because that is not what she is running on. She is a tribal representative for all the non-straight-white man tribes. And her plank is taking power from the tribe she doesn't represent, assuring the availability of abortion, reducing the cultural power of traditional Christianity and distributing tax revenue to the blacks and hispanics.

He's right. But the thing they miss that cultural uniformity is the reason for the season. No Euro country with even a third of our diversity has made that system work. And even then, the model students in Scandy are all moving to the center if not the Right.

What political system wouldn't "work" if the given country was 99% racially, culturally and religiously uniform?

And Japan works just fine as far as the Japanese are concerned.

The only authentic guy on the Democratic side of the ledger is the one declaring his candidacy today. . . Bernie Sanders
the only authentic guy, period.

DMW,

You don't think Carson, Santorum and Kasich are "authentic"?

They don't believe that is a political issue. The machine works fine, they just can't find the fuel.

neither carson and santorum are elected. nor will they be. they are fruit loops. if you are crazy, you can't take credit for who you are.

kasich is not a candidate.

bernie has been bernie ever since he was the socialist mayor of burlington.

Well there you go. Internally consistent at least.

Do you consider your definition of "authentic" to be idiosyncratic?

One that has been generally accepted for a considerable length of time?

Or one that has only recently gained popular acceptance?

I ask because it seems to me that we are in a time of conceptual and definitional fluctuation driven by the Cultural/New Left.

I am about as far from that position as it is possible to get but I have been wondering if people of the Left perceive the same thing...

And if they do, if it is an intentional untethering or a more organic occurrence.

I'm not sure what Bernie gets out of this. When somebody like Huckabee or Sharpton run it's obviously to promote their personal brands. I've heard people say that Bernie will push Hillary to the left but he probably will be overspent 5:1.

A perfect storm could defeat Hillary but it's hard to picture her team making that many mistakes.

It's going to be hilarious watching conservatives pull out their usual, "the most far-left candidate in history" for Hillary when Bernie is gunning for the Democrat nomination.
