I'm at a loss. Dad is 79, just got his knee replaced (A-OK on the rehab). Plays a shit-ton of golf for a hobby, but it is going to be a few months.

I was thinking refrigerator magnets for his new knee hardware...

I assume you got him hookers and blow last year, so I'm at a loss.

How about an AR? I hear they're easily available everywhere and now come in enough colors to suit anybody's taste.

I'm envisioning a lime green upper and red/black plaid lower for out on the golf course.

I knew that was coming...

Ended up getting him a bluetooth transmitter for the stereo and a bluetooth speaker for under the house. That ought to confuse him for a week or two.

LOL. If I were being serious I would have recommended just spending time with him. Even at my much younger age, time with the kids is too rare and greatly appreciated when it happens. But this is way better. :)

Honestly, I have no idea what I'd do if had to change my gift-giving choice for my dad. I always get him the same thing, a big box of assorted German beers. He came to the US in his 20's, and his love of good beer, even though he is German, is outweighed by his penny-pinching ways. Bud is as expensive as he is willing to buy for himself. Once I thought I'd get him something different, and my mother told me he moped around the house for a week.

I don't like to make a big deal about it and few people know but it was ten years ago on Father's Day 2006 that I received a most special gift...a BIG GREEN EGG!! It sounds like your dad has plenty of gas left in his tank...why not give him a super special gift like a BIG GREEN EGG that he can cook fantastic things in and let the magic happen. Just a suggestion. Keep this quiet tho cuz I don't like people asking me about it.

My oldest son once got me a bottle of Red Breast Irish Whiskey. I still get a tear in my eye thinking about it.

That'd be a two-fer celebration. Father's Day and Gay Pride Month. Woot!
