Obama said the White House "was built by slaves." Strictly speaking, the White House was not exclusively built by slaves; it was built by a combination of slaves, free blacks and whites. But slaves were significantly involved in the construction of the White House, so we have no quarrel with the way Obama worded her claim. We rate it True.

Political TV host Bill O’Reilly defended the United States' use of slave labor after Michelle Obama highlighted the fact that the White House “was built by slaves” during her DNC address.

"The O'Reilly Factor" host, while fact-checking Obama’s remarks, said on his show Tuesday that the slaves who toiled from 1792 to 1800 to build the White House were “well-fed and had decent lodging.”

2) Trayvon Martin
3) Michael Brown
4) Baltimore Dead Guy
5) The several recent White Cop/Black Shootee YouTube videos (Baton Rouge, Michigan)

Obama could have educated ALL citizens about:
a) Due Process
b) past use of Lynchings, and that jumping to hasty conclusions based on first impressions has led to injustice for many black (and white) citizens
c) Investigations take time, but misleading videos and street rumors are virtually instantaneous
d) Each incident is individual, i.e., that virtually all the important circumstances of incidents #1-5 are unique & unconnected to each other, and may or may not be informed by slavery, Jim Crow, or race hate by police
e) Many of the investigators, elected officials, jury members, and judges will be black
f) A deliberate process that gathers all the evidence will take time, and will not always be perfect. But is the best that is humanly possible.

And that WE ARE ALL AMERICANS, as Obama said before his first election, to the applause of almost all who believed him.
