Martin Cruz Smith (Gorky Park)

So, I'm wandering through my favorite library, looking at the new releases, and a book called "Stalin's Ghost" catches my eye. I check it out and find out that this same author wrote "Gorky Park" and that this was the latest in that series about Arkady Renko.
Now, I remember the movie "Gorky Park" vaguely, but not the book, but, since I have a shitload of books, I decide to save it for another month.
Later on, the same day, I take my daughter to another, smaller, closer library, and while she's doing puzzles and playing preschool computer games, I wander the stacks and pick up Smith's "Polar Star", which was the second book in the Ranko series and started reading it.
I ended up checking it out and reading about 200 pages today, good stuff.
I'm always pleased when I find a book I enjoy, especially when it's a series.
