The Wire was fantastic. Curb is just going into pre-production--I think.

Will definitely check out Adams and No Reservations.

Good call on Charlie Rose, ain't watched it in years (no TV).

Anyone tried In Treatment?

Also excellent. It looked stupid, then I caught an episode or two and ended up tearing through the whole season on On Demand.

Sucks now that it is off on-demand. Thanks. Will catch-up on it.

I pay the extra every month just to keep all of the Military, Discover, and History channels. I watch a lot of the real estate shows. AMC always has good movies on at some point during the day. I have recorded, The Logest Day, The Karate Kid, Apollo 13, Hunt for Red October, and Die Hard on AMC in just the past week to watch while I am up late with the baby.

Not complete commercial free but the commercials are usually less than 2min each break with about 4 -5 breaks for a 2 hour movie.

That show with Andrew Zimmerman (sp) where he travels around eating all the "strange" foods is good too.

"Good Eats" is a hoot. I learned to cook using the lessons from that show.

"MythBusters" can be a lot of fun. They've slowed down a little in later seasons, but Adam and Jamie still carry the show.
The "Adult Swim" portion of Cartoon Network is good sometimes - they rerun old episodes of "Home Movies" on a regular basis.

"Home Movies" is what you'd get if Oscar Wilde and Woody Allen collaborated in grade school on a Flash animation project.

AMC and TMC are both great for catching older movies - AMC has commercials but doesn't overdo it the way the network channcels or superstations like TBS or WGN do. TMC is commercial free.

I like IFC because they will show some real sleeper stuff on the off hours - I've seen "Ichi The Killer", "Man Bites Dog",samurai films, the "Coffin Joe" trilogy, even movies like "New Rose Hotel" (which has the distinction of starring but Willem Defoe and Christoper Walken and STILL managing to suck.)

No wonder you're so smart. That's what, 40 hours a week of tube time? Read a fuckin book.

My GF keeps ranting about Home Movies but I ain't had time to look at it. I will check it now, but I won't say it is because of the suggestion of some anonymous person on the internet. She might get offended.

Agreed on IFC.
