Meh.

In the original version, there were just valiant researchers (in a pretty damn boring movie) trying to save the world from a bug.

In this update, there are valiant researchers (in a pretty damn long movie) trying to save the world from a time-travelin', mass-mind-havin', instant-communicatin'-and-evolvin' bug, plus evil government black ops types and a Nicotine Gum Chewing Man who looks like Eddie Albert.

The first disk is okay. Except for the wormhole.
The second disk is when it all comes off the rails, culminating in the moment when it jumps the shark: The Thumb Incident. Don't ask, just don't bother.

Organizing some first aid kits, folding clothes, a couple of jumpstretch sessions, and har-harring with my wife kept this from being a total waste of time.

Ahh yes, the slow-mo thumb toss from the bottom of the nuclear reactor. It would have only been better if they had done some sort of "Chariots of Fire" theme along with.

They dropped the ball with the second 2 hours. The first part was okay, the second part was just awful. I didn't like any of the characters.

The slowly rising, half-turn "thumbs up" with dramatic music has already become a staple of hilarity at our house. We totally busted a gut at that one.
