Phenomenal movie. Penn is amazing. It's really not like watching Sean Penn, just totally becomes the guy. All the other actors amazing as well. A story that needs exactly no added drama to be one of the most dramatic imaginable. My wife and I were saying today it's harder to imagine that it really happened then to believe it as a movie. Gran Torino next.

You're right, better to have people profess their hate for one another. This guy was even braver then you are when you play Halo.
Talk about a South Park, sorry, I mean Soth Park, joke come true.

Thanks for the review AB. When I saw the trailer, I thought Penn was playing a retard again.
In any case, Retard or Dead Queer is usually Oscar gold, but this year we have plenty o' Holocaust films as well.
Dead Jews vs. Dead Queers = Academy Civil War.

Well, your concern for the common man, your fellow man, is obviously superficial then.

Having just skimmed the Wikipedia entries on this guy and the movie, I don't understand this reaction. Is it hard to imagine that a gay rights activist was elected to (the equivalent of) city council in San Francisco, or is the surprising part that he was killed for a reason that had nothing to do with his controversial cause?

I'm guessing Foxy got more comments on his custom shirt at this flick than he would at, say, Gran Torino.
