Anyone have it or know something about it?

Polar RS200sd

I'm debating between this and the Garmin 305 (I saw Shape's post on the Garmin 405). The Polar has a foot pad, the Garmin has GPS. I will be using them for my conditioning (running, airdyne, calisthenics circuits, etc.).

Any input appreciated.

I have one and it works fine. I do not have the foot pod. If I wanted to track distance I would probably go with the Garmin (GPS).

I have the Polar S625X for running, cycling, and HR. It uses the foot pod for running distance/pace. It works fine for the degree of accuracy I really need. I callibrated it by running laps of a 400m track and adjusting what it thought I ran to what I actually ran. After that, it's fairly spot on. The only caveat I've found is that the foot pod system is dependent on a consistent stride. If you callibrate it at a fast temp, that's where it's going to be most accurate. If you calllibrate it at a dead sprint, it's accurate there.

I like the idea of the Garmin better because it's just one less thing to hassle with. The foot pod is light, but you know it's there. And the Garmin will tell you distance/pace/speed no matter what you're doing. I needed to rig the sensors up on the bike to get info there.

Thanks, guys. I went for the Garmin. I'll be getting it next week for my birthday.
