The newest Bob Lee Swagger novel. The character from the movie The Shooter for those who don't read Hunter. Very good. Great plot. Washington power play. Lot's of technical gun stuff.
I like Hunter. My favorite characters still are Bourne (Ludlum), John Rain (Eisler), Jack Reacher (Child), Gabriel Alon (Silva). But Swagger is fun. The Rain books are fun because he actually trains, something unfortunetly left out of most of these books. The Alon books are cool because of the art parts and he's a tribesman.

Wasn't Swagger's last book to do with samurai swords? I'm pretty sure I picked up a previous Swagger book because you mentioned them.
I forget about Eisler, but those are some decent books too.

What books should I start out with from the authors you listed, Bill? Or anyone who has read these same authors. This is including Steve Hunter. I dig this kinda shit. I have been reading Vince Flynn lately with the Mitch Rapp character. Pretty good.

Start with the first Rain book from Eisler and work forward - they do refer back to previous books.
For Child I like "Tripwire".

I just got into this. I think Rain Fall is the first. Good stuff especially if you like your killing up close and personal.
Right now it's the Gabrial Alon Mossad character in Daniel Silva's series that I enjoy the most. I think "The Kill Artist" is first.
The last few Reacher books didn't quite do it for me.

Good interview of Hunter in this month's American Rifleman. Hopefully this link works; the Man has it blocked.
