Homelite electric mower

Picked this up a couple of years ago when we were renting a house in Washington State. Home Depot site says they're $200 now, and I think that's what we paid for ours.

Pros:
Very light compared to a gas mower
A good bit less noisy
High torque from the electric motor. Haven't been able to bog it down no matter how thick or tall the grass is.
Starts within a milisecond every time. Just plug it in and pull the handle back.
No exhuast fumes
No having to deal with gasoline

Cons:
Gotta watch out for the power cord, and you'll need a pretty damn long extesion cord if you have a bigger yard or you don't have outlets around the outside of your house. It's really no big deal if you start close to the outlet and work out.
20" deck is the largest I saw.

Verdict:
Any yard that you would normally mow with a gas walk behind you can mow with this. The only question is do you want to trade off having to watch out for a power cord vs. not having to deal with a gas mower. For our small patch of city it's a no-brainer.

Definate buy.

Anybody tried the rechargeable ones? Our mower is still chugging away but won't last forever, and I'd prob like to go to an electric for the next one. But we have a 100' by 100' back, so no cord.

Yes, but unfortunately only suitable for flat, smooth lawns without sticks, gumballs, etc. I've used one and they're awesome until you hit something other than grass.

Whhhirrrrrrr-KACHUNK. and it stops dead and you have to dig out the offending piece.
