Old British TV spy series from the Carter era cold war. While most spy movies and novels focus on the shooting stuff, this focuses on the other part-- bureaucracy, backstabbing, miscommunication, politics, and what most of us would probably consider misplaced priorities. The production values are about what you'd expect from a BBC tv series at the time. The plots are well written with lots of twists and turns, and hit from all sorts of angles. There isn't much action, and there few good one liners.
After a few episodes, I'm hooked-- it seems very realistic, and is the best TV series I've seen in a long time.
