These are stunningly good. Hector Lassiter is a writer of crime fiction, and a good friend of Ernest Hemingway, who features prominently in these in one way or another.

Head Games was interesting and fun.
I had a few minor quibbles, but enjoyed it overall.

"One True Sentence" was pretty good. The book is almost completely plot driven but, as you turn the pages, you learn about the ex-pat community in Paris of the 1920s. I've read a bit on that era --- Hemingway, Ford Madox Ford --- and it seems completely accurate.

There's a bit on the various literary feuds of the day, and the author knows what he is talking about but doesn't attempt anything more than serviceable prose. A lesser author may have been tempted to throw a bit of pastiche.

Tim, WTF? Pastiche is what strippers in the 50's & 60's used to cover their nipples.
