Finished this in record time. 10 to 12 hour nights reading my Nook while switching kicks ass.
Great book about the sinking of the Nantucket whaleship Essex and the few survivors of 90+ days in the Pacific in a 3 whaleboats.
It's the story that inspired Melville to write Moby Dick.
A bit depressing.
I believe Cod is next.

False. Black men do not get onto boats (willingly).

I just saw that they had whaleboats.
So what's the big deal? Doesnt sound so hard sack to me? Floating around for a bit, on a boat with your friends. No women to bitch at you. No difficult choices about where to go for dinner. No yard work. At least they weren't left clutching a wood plank while Rose promised them she'd never forget them.
