Just picked one up locally...looking for a parallel grip barbell, and this wasn't a bad option, and pretty inexpensive from the guy I bought it from.

Got the 7' one. Will use it this morning for the first time.

Does it make Fran easier, or harder?

This is actually a pretty versatile bar. I'm glad I grabbed it.

Interesting looking product, a lot like something I've seen elsewhere. But jeez, that clip...how many different "video" ways can you say "you can lift weights with your hands in a neutral position"?? I think the point was made 30 seconds in.

Of course, now I want one.

Looks nice, but I'd prefer a swiss bar for more grip options.

What did it run you?

$200.

This is, overall, more versatile than the Swiss Bar, which can be used for just pressing and rows. The guy I bought it from had a Swiss Bar too, and he almost never used the alternate grips.

I'm pretty pleased with this. Benching with it really brings the bar low onto the body and uses way more triceps.

You spent $200 to bench with a parallel grip.

I didn't watch the video before posting. Hadn't thought about the lower body stuff, so it does look more versatile.

What's the bar's weight capacity?

The sleeves seemed to be pretty short on the one I looked at online. Same problem as you'd have with a standard tarpbar I'd think.

No. Same as a standard Olympic barbell.

So, what I've done with it so far:

Bench, curl (3 different kinds), press, row, including using it like a tbar row stuck against the rack.

Benching is funky, it's really feels like a reverse grip bench, really low on the chest and a lot of triceps. 195 felt pretty heavy after about 6 reps.

Curls are curls. Always awesome. A curl and press feels pretty good with the hammer grip.

I have also tried some pulls....RDLs felt a bit funky, but not bad.

So, I like it, and I think it's more versatile than a Swiss bar, racked it up on the shoulders once to try a front squat....not bad either, but didn't load that yet.

Interesting. May have to keep my eyes open for one of these.

Quick question (s): for bench, did the set grip location have any impact/cause and difficulties? How narrow/wide is it (i.e. CG vs PL lift)?

How does this compare to the "football" bar that EliteFTS sales?

They are very very similar in that you don't need either one.

This bar solves a problem that never existed.

I'm shocked that Shaf hasn't figured out he can do DB presses with a neutral grip and achieve the same effects rather than buying a $200 specialty bar that locks your hand spacing into one position.

And I think we all know he's never going to front squat with it, or do any meaningful pulls, and nobody does curls long enough to see any real point to buying a bar that keeps your palms facing one another.

Next he will be eating chia seeds and purchasing a new tarp bar.

fuck you proto, if purchasing used weight equipment makes me happy, like your penchant for transsexual hookers and blood covered rubber sheets, then you should be happy for me.
