Here's a brief . Full review should be done this weekend.

1) its a beginners dvd. Its designed to replace the old TRS tapes
2) talks about the 3 distances and some basics on what to do at each one
3) everything is done in the usual Systema manner - slow. There are some clips of people attacking fast & hard, but it looks choreographed
4) bottom line - MOVE. never stop, never assume a "stance" always keep your body position or as Sonnon says your alignment & structure

Shows various exercises to work hip mobility and to build tendon & lig strength which he considers more important than muscular strength

1) move the whole body as a unit to escape if you cant then
2) Move the part being attack to deflect or evade the incoming weapon (hand leg, knife whatever)

flow, use whipping motions from the ground up and make your block, deflection evasion become your attack

hit with any body part

Talks a little about breathing, and basic rolls

Interesting add-on is a video of a seminar where he does defense against a chain.

All in all a basic intro to Systema principles. It runs 2hrs 25min.
Most of the time he is speaking in Russian with a female translator.

Sound quality it very good except in the few places where he is speaking English while demo-ing

Production quality is professional

If you are interested in Systema its a good place to start. WIthout a partner or instructor you will have a tough time practising some of this stuff.

Right now it's 49.95 but I think it is supposed to go up to 59.95 soon.

Bump.

Dave, when you get around to it, I still want to see the head to head with softwork and the full softwork.

Thanks,
