Funny thing how she. Claims to have grown up in a non-abusive house but then talks about an apathetic mom and a father who would terrorize most kids. Not that I'm not buying the diagnosis. There's actually a good ted talk by a psychopath who realized he was a psychpath through his work with studying the brains of serial killers.

I kind of think she's just a cunt.
One of the things I like about the new Sherlock is that he is an admitted socialpath and makes no bones about it.
Grossman says soldiers before stimuls-response training was understood, who could willingly aim at another man and kill him and move on and repeat are a form of temporary or situational socialpath.
Good, repetitive stimulis-response training can make most of us situational social paths.
Lots of these little assholes who shoot up crowds are what you can get when you combine fucked up + mental drugs + 1st person shooters.

This interview with Reason is the first YouTube video that came up for me on Google, but I've seen the Ted talk, too. That is, if we're talking about the same person.
He's not a psychopath, or a serial killer (as far as anyone knows), but he shares common genes and other "stuff" with some since a number were in his family.

Plenty of people share traits with serial killers and the like but never do anything of the sort. Lots of serial killers and mass shooters have trigger incidents in their lives and they start to slide towards their darker sides, become wrapped in their own headworld and then go do what they are going to do. Some become methodical killers and sadist, others gear up and go out to kill a bunch and die at the end.

So much nonsense from you re: consensual adult behaviors but can't disagree with this. The human brain is awesomely plastic. Things we put on the autism spectrum are superpowers in the hands of the right person, same with ADD, OCD and yes, sociopathy.DARTH wrote:

I have very few absolute beliefs but one of those is that given the right brain chemistry, situation anyone is capable of just about anything.

This bitch's story rings flatter than shit. She's working the psych-culture lingo we pick up from copshows to make this story hang. It's utter poop.

Don't know if you got the time but you can patch together the whole thing, then let me know your opinion. I do not agree 100% with Groosman and SLA Marshall's work has expossed flaws (and Hackworth proved him as a bloated bullshiter about his own combat exp. But it's the accounts of the soldiers here and the process the host goes through that really supports the theory pretty damn good.

I've got the time this time of year.
I watched the video. The only thing I can say is that the thought process of the man at the end; the one that stated that he would probably not be able to fight Hitler after viewing those videos, is so foreign to anything I can imagine.
Some people need killing. Most don't.
Pity for those that need killing is something that I cannot relate to.

Link together all the episodes, it takes under 2 hours and you will see his views and instincts change a lot. By the time he has worked at DARC with an SF instructor in CQB and then did MOUNT exercises with Marines who had just come back from Iraq, he admits you feel good hitting a man with a simunition and he can see where he probably could do it because in the drills he engaged and fired without thinking about it.Bob Wildes wrote:-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------DARTH wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6jrRqGwtB8Bob Wildes wrote:------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------DARTH wrote:I kind of think she's just a cunt.

It really is worth watching the whole documentary. The stories by the former Paras are heavy.

Re: One in 25 at IGX is a Sociopath
The emotional response to a line of duty killing comes after. There's no time for feelings before.
Re: One in 25 at IGX is a Sociopath
Yet so many combatants have admitted to not being able to pull the trigger. I saw a thing with a guy who was a decorated sniper in S.E . Asia in the 60s who became a cop and he had as he put "The perfect, justifiable shooting scenario and I just could not do it."
Strange shit.
Yet others with no exp. do it quick as shit.
This is all interesting it and bares some study if you are into self defense and what not but none of it is cold hard, evertime truth because people and situations can very so damn much.
A good buddy who shoot a few in Iraq said. Man it's different for different people but I think one of the reasons a lot of guys feel guilt is that there is a part of you that feels damn good killing some motherfucker who was trying to kill you and your buddies and so later on you fell ashamed of doing so.
Never shot anyone but have done things in situations were I was torn between being glad I came out but a bit sick about hurting someone that bad.
Many of the pre stresssors when there is a build up to the situation I have felt, so I give a lot of this shit some weight.
Did you have anytime before you did what you had to do? I think I remember you saying the fucker came out of the blue and the drills you did took over.
For all the shit it might have caused you, I'm glad you're here and he's not.
And if it is too much, don;t bother to answer man. Not going to hold you to a question about some shit that was a major event in your life.

Yep. The lack of regret/emotion is what freaked me out after my first shooting.
