Biden's America: Record Number of Unaccompanied Minors Held in Detention Facilities

AMLO, President of Mexico, has dubbed Biden the Migrant President. Kamala Harris, to my knowledge, has yet to visit the border even though she's supposed to be overseeing the crisis. https://nypost.com/2021/03/24/mexican-p ... -on-biden/

As of March 2021, there were over 18,000 children held in detention centers, over 7,000 more than the previous high in May of 2019. Fewer families now, but that's likely because we're kicking out nearly everyone we catch unless they're an unaccompanied minor. Chart:

These conditions are at least as bad as anything seen under DJT, yet there are no crying photo ops, we have a VP who laughs her way out of answering questions from reporters, and the flow is unlikely to slow any time soon.

I think newguy made the point that nobody on either side of the aisle really wants to see this problem fixed. It's a great issue upon which to grandstand, but real Americans are being affected by this. Ranchers in border states have been complaining as long as I've paid attention to immigration, yet little to nothing seems to be on the table other than dumb arguments about a wall. What about real enforcement? Respecting the property rights of people who live in the area and have migrants crossing through?

I've said this before, but I went to high school with Kate Steinle and was friendly with her. She was a year older, but we knew each other and would be at the same parties etc. I liked her and she lost her life to a man who was firing a stolen gun, from a LEO, and the bullet struck her and killed her. He had been released multiple times due to sanctuary laws. While not directly impacted, I was closer to the problem than most, and this should have never happened.

I'm a pro-immigration guy, but between our welfare state and lax security, this clearly isn't working.
