Get a 20.00 bar from craigslist or something, then take the sleeves off the ends...
By 20.00 did you mean $20 or 20lbs.
I meant $20, sorry for the confusion
Yes, thanks for clarifying. It was very confusing there for a minute.

It is a well known fact that most @fitters only use Craig's List for the "personals," and never go near the "athletic equipment for sale" section. You risk losing the opportunity to make that same-sex love connection if you continuously search for cheap, used weightlifting equipment.

I just came across this book CF has in the pipeline

http://www.crossfit.com/futurebooks/wen ... money_stat

"Money, Gin, Boob Jobs, Steroids, and Porn. Where Did Things Go Wrong?"

"Strange memories on this nervous night in Santa Cruz. Five years later? Six? It seems like a lifetime, or at least a Main Era — the kind of peak that never comes again. Crossfit HQ in the early 2000's was a very special time and place to be a part of. Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run . . . but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant. . . .
There was madness in any direction, at any hour. You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning. . . .

Women were leaving their husbands and getting tit jobs. failed athletes were finding untold riches in the naivete of housewives and thin white men. Marginally attractive female trainers were hailed as the Zenith of beauty and terms like "crossfit hot" were coined.

And that, I think, was the handle—that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. but we did try to capitalize on the service of brave men and women serving our country. we thought our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting — on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. . . .

It was a time before Eva's clit become so distended and engorged that I wasn't sure if it was pointing at me in an accusatory fashion, or beckoning me to come hither. Before semi skilled buffoons were hailed as the poster boys and girls of a new movement, not unlike a bowel movement, only to be replaced by big titty bitches who lived on the sweat of others and trust funds, and answered to the name Barky.

So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Arizona and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark — that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back. "

What are your thoughts on crossfiters taking steroids and do you take them?
Remember, this girl in the video was competing in the crossfit games. Is crossfit supporting the use of steroids or is it cheating?

Clearly, they're all on steroids.

The elite military units can't wait to have Glasshole lecture to them. His whole "been there, done that" street cred just packs them in.

He makes an interesting argument, about training to improve your performance in the thing you do worst "out of the hopper". What this really does is it prepare you for a competition where your opponent gets to pick the event. A min-max strategy for training.

Dave Tate makes the same argument. ....So does every wrestling coach that came before him back to the buttfucking Greeks. ..A weakness is just the shit you don't do. if you suck at it, it's because you're not working on it.

Every time Glasshole makes an intelligent point, you can use the principle of specificity to sweep the legs from beneath his gimpy ideas.

Sadly, in the military context, he'll probably find an eager audience. He knows how to talk the talk about "extreme" this and "high velocity" that. In my experience, PT is run by guys who know nothing about performance except that you need to REALLY bust your ass every morning. Cultfit achieves that very limited goal: work yourself into the ground & fall over exhausted. Mission Accomplished! And have you taken a look at the Army PT manual lately? It's not going to improve ANY performance "metrics" except perhaps improving your max pushups and situps in 2 minutes and 2 mile run time. Heck, Cultfit can do that. So can pretty much any training program. But Cultfit uses all the right buzzwords.

You're right about the PT mind set in the regular Army, however I'd disagree about some of your comments about the Army Physical Fitness test. The only way@fit would improve someones PT score is if they were doing absolutely ZERO PT. Any exercise protocol will improve your PT score if you're starting from rock bottom.

As for the test, it's only a test for general fitness. Is it perfect? No, but it's on average a good average gauge of general physical fitness and allows the Army to test a large amount of people in a short amount of time.
