Become the official interwebz retailer to a whole slew of @fitters with trust funds and loads of discretionary cash. In return, give the GWF some space on your weekly newsletter and link back to the site.

Why is Couch the subject of this thread's fierce attention? He's a controversial figure in the fitness world, with a penchant for pedantry and character assassination, not to mention hooch and big titties (and honestly, which IGxer wouldn't like to be raking in cash, booze, and big titties like that?) The cultish attitudes of affiliates and crossfitters are what annoys me. I'd go have booze and wings with couch...who could say what would happen? Arguing, bullshitting, whatever? Hopefully I'd be the subject of a patented Glassassination (tm) afterwards. Why does Tate get such respect?

Is it because he walked the walk in powerlifting at WSB? Is it because he went from special ed to successful business owner? Is it because at one point in time, his opinions were very similar to yours? Tate's into making money now, and to do it he's going to sell to the biggest customer base he can, and he's going to associate with folks who make money...because once you've got the inventory, it's all about the marketing.

Also, man, Wendler is not Tate, but Wendler's buddies with guys like Ferruggia and stuff like that.

So I guess Tate is going to retract many of his statements from "Under The Bar"? That was supposedly a statement of their philosophy toward life and business and most of it had to do with having integrity. Glassman has none. It's a complete 180 for Tate and elitefts. Selling barbells and medicine balls to Cultfitters is akin to selling beer mugs to alcoholics. Yeah you can make a buck but that doesn't make it right.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of Westsider's...I watched the documentary "Bigger, Stronger, Faster" which was about steroids. Good movie.

The founder of Westside was pro-steroids in the movie. I can't help but feel steroids are cheating and lose respect for those who use them. I also lose respect for their training methods.

The movie was amazing in all the excuses people used to justify steroids. There must have a dozen or more different excuses....people rationalizing the most egregious things away but only kidding themselves.

I still don't get what the problem is.

If Dave Tate is a good instructor or speaker, then does it really matter who he presents his information to?

Is his information bad depending on who listens to it?

Is his integrity compromised depending on who listens to it?

I don't know why you kweers are all butt hurt about this. Elite sells equipment. @Fers buy equipment. Do you endorse every person you sell shit to?

There's an upside to @fit's popularity: less expensive gear for the rest of us.

In 1999, my only readily availble options for Oly shoes was Addidas or Powerfirm, basically $150-200.

Back then, if you wanted a decent OL bar and a set of bumpers, you had to shell out three grand or more.

Today, cost effective options abound, not just for Oly, but for lots of strength equipment.

If all the little @fit doofuses weren't paying through the nose to attend adult daycare, there wouldn't have been enough demand for people to make, import, or sell mass-market goods like Do-Win, or the Pendlay bars, or whatever.

Hooray for us, then.
