Mckenzie is a good guy. He deserves any money that he's requesting. cF just doesn't like to pay out people that help them. Same as DD.
And let’s not forget SHAF the pajama clad postulator extolling opinions on a dozen different fitness forums 10 to 12 hours a day including major holidays.

OMG these are fucking priceless...just a few responses to Morgan's KING KONG on youtube.

Very impressive. He made 275# cleans look easy. But I must say, in a Crossfit competition the time would not have counted. He did not stand all the way up in the cleans and the muscle-ups were not at full extension. Regardless, that performance is incredible.

definately an impressive job with that workout... but KING KONG is not a CrossFit benchmark workout... its not even a standard/main site workout... i would like to see some of his times on workouts that don't favor a former Olympic weightlifter... "Nasty Girls" "Murph" "Fran" "FGB" "Cindy" match his times and scores to Crossfit then and see how his strength, endurance, skill work hold up... i just dont like people bad mouthing crossfit b/c an olympian crushed a workout stacked in his favor

super time and brilliant lifting. Would like to see a fran or a murph though!

from Dave Tate in an old article "My guys can get a fuck of a lot closer to what thos guys (CF) do than they can get to what we do" I gotta agree. I watched a BB do fran with a douche fitter and he was tossing up thrusters like a warm up set and did dead hang pull ups (vs butterfly) and the times were like 7+ for BB and 5 for CF. the bodybuilder had a 485 bench and a 380 squat vs. 185 bench and 240 squat ?

That is actually a valuable point. Years ago, one of our distance runners was mouthing off that "we work harder than anyone else." Coach Lualhati just broke him down pointing out that running five miles in the morning is not the same as snatching 260. One can easily match a "good" runners workout in just a few years, but to deadlift a "good" national level meet is simply stunning. Going from strength focused sport to endurance stuff has to be miles easier than going from endurance to high end power work. I work with top level guys in some sports that do lifts that, honestly, freshman boys make on a regular basis. I have a non-elite 14 year old freshman who power cleaned 175 easily today, yet I deal with men who can't pull that much at a greater body weight, but dominate local and regional events in sports.

Working "hard," or the perception of working hard, doesn't really mean anything. Sweating, vomiting, and breathing hard could be a good workout or a tropical disease kicking in.

I totally agree with what you and Dan are saying regarding the transition from strength based training to endurance based training.

Back when I was training for my PT for the police dept. I went from not even being able to complete a 1.5 mile run to getting sub 9:30 times on a regular basis in the matter of a couple of months.

Not elite level stuff I know but I hadn't done any endurance training for years at that point.

Crossfit. It conjures up many images for me , none of them good. After my experiment with this workout and community I have come to realize its not for me. I am neither bigger, faster or stronger than when I started. I know I will come back with proper programing and heavy weights though.
These moronic things you call workouts seem to be designed by an idiot. Granted there are affiliates doing thier own thing and some are good, some arent.
This community and board seem to be filled with bored housewives and desk jockeys. The insane drivel that gets posted here is nauseating. The injury section alone is reason enough to avoid crossfit. The Koolaid cult will survive for a while longer, while I will go my way and train properly and continue to progress safely.

Bony Pudding and Nicolavar are putting the squeeze on the more independent affiliates holding specialized certs, in an apparent attempt to get some more money for themselves at Couch HQ. Or so I hear.

Rip's probably not the only 'specialist' who will go away. I do hear that Burgener is very pleased with what being affiliated with XF has done for him.
