No, it's not. LE and Fire personnel are in danger of actually dying on every call. A workout shouldn't put people at risk of death.

I'd like to slap the taste out of this fucker's mouth.

Topic of the day: How will the newly ANSI accreditation for @F change anything, or is it just a way to blow smoke up some sheep's asses?
http://www.crossfit.com/mt-archive2/007315.html
Nicole wrote:So, what does this mean for Level 1 Trainers?

Your Level 1 Trainer Certificate will still afford all the benefits as it did in the past - the ability to train others using CrossFit methods and the opportunity to apply for affiliation. Now, it has the added benefit of being accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) http://www.ansi.org/about_ansi/introduc ... x?menuid=1

Is this retroactive for all Level 1 Trainers?

All Level 1 Trainer Certificate holders who have taken and passed the Level 1 Test now hold ANSI accredited Level 1 Trainer Certificates.

Here are a couple additional links that will be helpful:
http://www.crossfit.com/cf-seminars/Cer ... estFAQ.pdf
http://msrops.blogs.com/akac/files/Cred ... nology.pdf

I definitely encourage you to read through these documents as they will help provide clarification to many of the questions and concerns that are coming up.
This won't help them an ounce when the shite goes down.

All the accreditation means is that their test is reflective of their curriculum. It does not legitimize their methods.

I'm pretty sure 20% slop is unacceptable for ANSI standards of anything.

I can't imagine why they didn't go for the "standard" of the industry, the NCCA accreditation, the one that all the (considered semi-legit, at least in some way) other guys have?

They are such trailblazers, you know...

NCCA is no better in terms of legitimizing content.
Certification organizations that submit their programs for accreditation are evaluated based on the process and products, not the content, and are therefore applicable to all professions and industries.

An Ode to Mediocrity...

http://www.shorelinecrossfit.com/2010/12/unstoppable/

“Unstoppable”
You can beat me. But not defeat me.

I will dial myself in. I will focus.

You can run faster than me. But you cannot run truer.

I will learn to sprint. And to slow my pace for recovery.

You can post higher PR numbers than me on every whiteboard that exists in this world. But your weights really only mean something to you, not to me. You can lift more than me. In rubber or iron. Today. But not in life. I am my own yardstick.

I will breathe deep and take this burden from the ground to my shoulders. And then over my head. But I will put it back down and walk away from it. It does not own me.

Although we pen our efforts for everyone to see, I was never competing with you to begin with. I am trying to be a better version of me, every single workout and every single day. You only help me to get there. Thank you. I hope my efforts drive you harder too.

But make no mistake, you can never defeat me.

It’s simply not possible.

I am unstoppable.~L. Darsh (http://www.crossfitlisbeth.com)

While I agree with the sentiment that the average person really only need to be worried about getting stronger/healthier relative to themselves everyday...does it have to be written in such a faggoty way?

That long ode to mediocrity reminds me of Newguy's comment that is forever etched in my cranium...

I am strong in life, when there is furniture to move, I move it.

Fucking hell, at least he only used up one sentence, why's this English major waxing poetic on being slow and weak?

Yup, you can get accreditation for many things that would make people scratch their head and go "huh?". The accreditation doesn't mean you have a good product, only that you have a documented process that can be verified. Hence why sporting accreditation companies really haven't looked at ANSI, doesn't really mean anything to them. But CFHQ knows best...

hey they already eschew peer review, exercise science and periodization; why not redefine what it means to be accredited?
