When I was at my worst it was Thunderbird. The next day all you have to do is thrown some water on the pipes and your drunk all over again.coop wrote:I don't think anything can quite compare to Night Train. At least the 20/20 and Cisco are flavored. I actually don't mind the Bling Bling or Orange Jubilee MD. Night Train is just foul.

Cisco is like cotton candy flavored liquid crack. All these wines make people crazy.

Re: Right now I'm drinking
Got some Christmas presents from a client who's a high end spirits distributor. I look forward to his gifts every year.
Last night I enjoyed this brandy:

Germain-Robin Craft-Method. Super smooth with a very fruity finish. Best way to warm up after a 3 hour bike ride in the cool weather.
And for Christmas dinner today I've got this bottle of wine ready to go:

Domaine Giraud Tradition 2005.
Haven't got to try it yet, but here's what the net had to say: 92 points Wine Spectator: "Very dark and juicy, with lots of boysenberry, fig and blackberry fruit backed by ganache, dark licorice, roasted vanilla bean and a long, structured finish, where a nice hint of black tea chimes in. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2009 through 2025."

I don't have a lot of experience with vampires, but I have hunted werewolves. I shot one once, but by the time I got to it, it had turned back into my neighbor's dog.

Re: Right now I'm drinking
I confess that I'm not drinking it right now but I will before the evening is through. Whiskey glass with one ice cube, alone in the light of the tree is the plan. A Christmas present from one of my sons.

Had a splash of this before bedtime, I asked Mrs. Santa for some as I had heard it was the favorite drink of washed up travel writers...

No.2 Son came up with some of this which I haven't opened yet...

Last night I had Breckenridge Vanilla Porter, hot sake (?) and had a little bit of the superghey faggotty..

that I gave to my sister's marginally employed, color-wearing, broken down powerlifter of a live-in boyfriend. It was fagaliscious!

Last night a nice Viognier of little consequence. Still deciding for tonight's companion to the roasting Beef.

This is by far the best Irish out there. He may be a washed up travel writer/Nile River deck hand but he knows his Irish whiskey.beefheart wrote:Had a splash of this before bedtime, I asked Mrs. Santa for some as I had heard it was the favorite drink of washed up travel writers...

About 5,000 calories worth of Aunt Martha's special 5 days to make it eggnog. It's so awesome, I can't even describe it.

I can see why they say smooth as Tennessee whiskey...it's actually pretty fucking smooth.
Have always just settled on a Kentucky brand like Makers or Blanton's until now.

Shape, if you get the chance you should pick up a bottle of High West Rendezvous Rye. It's from a small distiller in Park City Utah. I got a bottle as a gift a while back and I thinks it's easily better than Templeton.Shapecharge wrote:Ahhh Haaa! A late Xmas gift! Supposedly a lot of history here...and Al Capone's drink of choice.

I'll do it Alfred. From what I understand there's only maybe a dozen distilleries at best that make a rye based whiskey. I had my first taste this evening and I enjoyed it.

This thread verifies that IGx is a homogeneous community of alcoholics. I mostly only drink beer so I'm not not an alcoholic like the rest of you.

I'm jealous of those Chateauneufs, hope they were good.
Bought this to get a taste of extreeeeme peat. Not sure that it doesn't taste like band-aids to me. Time will tell. The finish is great though.

Got a couple of these as well, Stone is quickly replacing dogfish as my brewer of choice.
