LOL at the criticism that Mitt makes the rich look bad. He consistently gives more than the required Mormon minimum of 10% to religious and charitable causes.

Re: Occupy Wall Street
If everybody did what Romney does in paying as few taxes as possible and then stepping up to the table and donating 15% to charitable causes, the world would be a better place. The arguments that it would be better if the gov't took that 15% and used it on whatever they want blows the mind.Turdacious wrote:LOL at the criticism that Mitt makes the rich look bad. No, it's not. If it was, most of the thousands who casually post such BS would be too scared shitless to say a word.

I love they all sit around nodding knowingly and not saying a damned thing worth hearing.
And the "lawyer" that loves to argue but much like the rest doesn't have a clue as to what she is trying to say.

Re: Occupy Wall Street
They're back. It's a beautiful spring day in NYC, so at 9:00pm there were several dozen protestors in Union Square Park.
A few were occupying the men's room of the Whole Foods across the street. Imagine a line of guys waiting to piss, while womyn get to walk right into the ladies room.

A similar lesson emerges from a classic experiment conducted by Franz de Waals and Sarah Brosnan. The primatologists trained brown capuchin monkeys to give them pebbles in exchange for cucumbers. Almost overnight, a capuchin economy developed, with hungry monkeys harvesting small stones. But the marketplace was disrupted when the scientists got mischievous: instead of giving every monkey a cucumber in exchange for pebbles, they started giving some monkeys a tasty grape instead. (Monkeys prefer grapes to cucumbers.) After witnessing this injustice, the monkeys earning cucumbers went on strike. Some started throwing their cucumbers at the scientists; the vast majority just stopped collecting pebbles. The capuchin economy ground to a halt. The monkeys were willing to forfeit cheap food simply to register their anger at the arbitrary pay scale.
This labor unrest among monkeys illuminates our innate sense of fairness. It’s not that the primates demanded equality — some capuchins collected many more pebbles than others, and that never created a problem — it’s that they couldn’t stand when the inequality was a result of injustice. Humans act the same way. When the rich do something to deserve their riches, nobody complains; that’s just the meritocracy at work. But when those at the bottom don’t understand the unequal distribution of wealth — when it seems as if the winners are getting rewarded for no reason — they get furious. They doubt the integrity of the system and become more sensitive to perceived inequities. They start camping out in parks. They reject the very premise of the game.

One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/23/world ... .html?_r=1The first interloper stepped in front of her on the sidewalk and silently held up his hand. The second appeared behind her and beckoned for her bag. Maeve O’Connor was trapped.
Resistance would have been dangerous, so Ms. O’Connor handed it over. The two then sauntered arrogantly away. The whole encounter lasted no more than 15 seconds — just one more coordinated mugging by rhesus monkeys in a city increasingly plagued by them.
“I had other bags with me, but they knew the bag that had the fresh bread in it,” Ms. O’Connor said.
“They were totally silent, very quick and highly effective.”
The monkey population of Delhi has grown so large and aggressive that overwhelmed city officials have petitioned India’s Supreme Court to relieve them of the task of monkey control.

How fast are these fucking monkeys? The males average 17 lbs. My impulse would be to kick the first monkey and run.Turdacious wrote:The first interloper stepped in front of her on the sidewalk and silently held up his hand.
