Terrible.
If you liked There Will Be Blood, you will probably like this.
Same director, same unlikeable characters. Beautifully shot, well acted. Funny at times, but just awful.
I did a fist pump when it was over, because I was free from watching any more.

There Will Be Blood is one of my favorite movies, so I guess this is "can't miss" for me...
Re: The Master with Joaquin Phoenix
I would say so, I'd like to hear what you think. Of the 6 people I know who've seen it, only the 2 fans of There Will Be Blood liked it.

I'm going to pretend you're not jerking my chain and tell you. The plot us that this director's life is falling apart as he losses control of everything and everybody. Then he gets a Macarthur genius grant, and decided to put on a play that basically mimics his life. He attempts to control this world, since he can't control his own, But it runs off on its own course too. Movie is a head trip. The character who plays him his in his girlfriend, etc. Also had some tits and ass.Pinky wrote:

So in the movie, he creates the play which is the synecdoche of reality, ergo the title.
