One of mine was an engineer for Dole, but I think he was more of a mechanic.

The other was a fall down drunk who was booted from the navy and went to prison for a stint before he had turned 30.

I'll watch these stupid shows mostly guilt free, thank you.

Megan Boone's horrid acting and crappy wig are both annoying distractions, but watching Spader chew the scenery is worth it.

And I agree, Secretary is his finest work.

Super big fan of Spader as well. He kinda disappeared for awhile and then made a few cheesy movies one of which was some scifi outerspace thingy called Supernova. Not really very good. There's a scene in the movie where he's trying to nail Angela Bassett and he takes his shirt off and he's fucking totally jacked...it fucked my head up for a bit. I couldn't reconcile what I was seeing with the Spader I had watched in other movies. It'd be like finding out that Proto was sleeping with a chick and not a dude...wtf?

I've given up on this show. Last weeks's was interrupted by a special news report due to a mall shooting in New Jersey and I bailed before it came back on. Had no interest in finishing it. I've taken it off the DVR.

Shine's wearing off pretty fast for me too. Pity.

After a couple of lame episodes the Fall finale redeemed itself. I'll pick this up again when it comes back.

Agreed.

I read an article that said the set can be a little uncomfortable.

Spader's apparently in character the entire time he's on set. She's in her first real main roll and making rookie mistakes. Between the fatigue he's gotta feel at the end of each day and the natural frustration, I guess the atmosphere can be a little uncomfortable at times.

Spader is the only thing about this show that's been consistently good, but it's had enough strong times that I'll be picking up with the second half of the season, too.

We watched the final two episodes last night. For a network show that comes on at 9:00 they're pretty liberal with people getting shot in the head with blood splatter effects. I'll keep watching as well. Thought they did a good job of casting that dude with the scared up face and dead eye. And who knew...Alan Alda can be a sinister bad guy. Who is watching the watchers????? My panties are wet with the possibilities.

Quoted for historic value.

THis show is pretty good shit as well, although Shapage's comment is almost better.

I had written this off 3 or 4 episodes ago... they're on my DVR. Is it really worth getting back into?

For those Sunday afternoons when the waves are flat, the beer is cold, and the wife is PMS'ing, I see no reason not to spend 3 or 4 hours catching up and deciding if you want to pick up the second half of the season in a few weeks.

You could skip the 2 episodes before the 2-part Fall finale and be no worse off. The intro "Previously, on The Blacklist (Dun dun DUN!)" will get you up to speed.
