Saw this in 4DX - a motion chair with water and wind.
First off, I'm avoiding 4DX unless a film is made for it - it incongruously shakes you pretty hard, leans you forward when the main character leans forward, a light breeze when there's a breeze onscreen, and so on. It didn't bring me into the experience, but did bring me out of it.
Second, there are some funny parts in the movie - which I won't spoil. But I found Tom Hardy's character to be unlikeable and uninteresting. Maybe it was his clunky "hey you'se" accent. Maybe the chair shaking the fuck out of me didn't help. There was at least one potential plot hole - or at least unexplored thread that should have been handled.
Alien effects were pretty cool.
