Another Saudi Terrorist

Pensacola shooting: Saudi student kills three at US naval base

The gunman who killed three people at a US naval base in Pensacola, Florida, was a Saudi student, officials say.

He has been named as Mohammed Saeed Alshamrani - a Saudi military member in training at the site. He was shot dead by officials.

The local sheriff's office confirmed eight others were injured in the attack including two officers. The shooter used a handgun.

Not sure why they identify him as a "student" when he was active duty KSA military, and I'm not sure why we let these "people" on a military base but there you are. Rest in peace to the departed, that's a shitty way to go, especially since we know the U.S. government won't do a goddamn thing about it.

He was a exchange student pilot, sounds like just starting the program doing pre-flight indoc, nowhere near a cockpit yet. Those guys are usually seriously loyal to the family to get that deal, as they would go one to be pilots in the KSA military. F-15s and stuff.

Fuck him

Some weird shit will come out of this investigation.

What kind of world are we living in that the US even trains Saudi pilots? Good Lord, that's absolutely inane. And they are saying its, "too early to call it terrorism". I don't think so, friends. If a Saudi farts, it's terrorism.

EDIT: why do you say that about "weird shit" tho? What do you have in mind?

The kind of world where the Saudis keep the petrodallar afloat and buy billions of $$ worth of genocide, I mean weapons, from us every year. If the Saudis wanted to fuck us up ROYALLY, all they'd have to do is start selling oil in Russian or Chinese currency and our dollar would crater.
That's also the reason we smack down Venezuela and other small countries who want to get off of the petrodollar or tell the IMF to pound sand. We can't have that shit.

Truth. But we don't need the petrodollar. It was a failure to understand the ramifications of Nixon taking us off the gold std. once that happened, and as Mosler made clear in the original MMT books, we had the power to directly inject currency into the economy because tax revenue no longer funds gov spending. It's a bitter pill but all the MENA nonsense was for absolutely nothing even under a petrodollar paradigm.

I don’t even know, I just know that these guys are typically hard over royal family followers, that come over to train with us.

We’ve been training theirs folks for many decades. Builds connections, they are operating our aircraft, etc. That one of them from the inner circle would go postal...very odd.

EDIT: this is creepy...rumor mill fodder?
Six other Saudi nationals were detained for questioning near the scene of the shooting, including three who were seen filming the entire incident, according to a person briefed on the initial stages of the investigation.

Last time we had known pilot training for Saudis it didn't end well, did it? How many of the 9/11 Hijackers were Saudis?

The guy's Twitter put it well.
"“I’m against evil, and America as a whole has turned into a nation of evil,” reads the screed.

“Do you expect to transgress against others and yet be spared retribution?” asked the post.

“I’m not against you for just being American, I don’t hate you because your freedoms, I hate you because every day you supporting, funding and committing crimes not only against Muslims but also humanity,” the posts read."

“What I see from America is the supporting of Israel which is the invasion of Muslim countrie[s],” the post reads.

“You will not be safe until we live it as reality in pleastain [sic], and American troops get out of our lands.”

The Pulse Nightclub shooting was also an act of terrorism.

Sateen said that he was avenging the death of Abu Wahid, an "ISIS combatant". He praised those two cretins who bombed the Boston Marathon.

The Obama White House pretended it was about homophobia and gun control. The goofy fuck cracked jokes about drone strikes at an official dinner.

Guess this time the truth won't be swept under the rug.

We Americans are going to have to set limits on how much pain we can endure to make the world safe for Israel.

Right now it's these nickel and dime attacks. Some of these clowns want to infect themselves with Smallpox then take a flight on over. Wander on our streets infecting people. Smallpox is really nasty. Most of the kids today were not vaccinated. Even us old farts have only partial immunity.

I meet Israelis. We talk about demographics. Time isn't on their side unless they get to making babies or start sterilizing or bumping off Palestinians.

Trump says saudis are really sad about it and will send money. Giuliani was screeching about radical Islamic terrorism before the election but the rubes seem to have forgotten.

I don't mean this flippantly, but that's not how it works. It's true that Hyper-inflation a la Weimar or ZIM or even the south in the US Civil War was caused by massive printing of the currency. But even a cursory examination of the realities on the ground in those situations reveals that it was total deindustrialization coupled with massive injections of currency which led to huper-inflation.

When currency is injected into an economy that can't make anything more (either a healthy one at full capacity or one completely collapsed industrially) then inflation will rise and can lead to hyper-inflation in the latter case if the injection is huge relative to those things able to be purchased. There isn't anything to buy and there isn't anyone to make more things to buy.

But, in an industrialized economy with a more or less effective State that is operating beneath industrial capacity then injection of even massive amounts of fiat currency merely increases industrial capacity. The question then is, what situation is the US in now?

True, we've massively and tragically/criminally de-industrialized, so the analogy to WWII era MMT isn't perfect. And, the current FED approach to applying MMT by injecting billions on billions into the Int'l Financial sector is the worst possible one. But, that doesn't mean that the US has been reduced to one of those situations in which Weimar or ZIM or the CSA found themselves. We are still operating below our pathetic industrial capacity. And a massive injection of currency by the USG through govt funded re-industrialization and nuclear power and infrastructure would be massively beneficial.

It is important to remember that MMT is a non-ideological description of how the current US economy works. It is not a description of how every economy works now or how every economy has worked historically. Given the specific and exceedingly rare conditions in which the US found itself after Nixon took the US off the gold std in 1971, MMT applies. We became a sovereign nation with a "pure" fiat currency. Moreover, we are the most powerful economic and military power in the world. This can change. And perhaps even should change. But it is what it is right now. And it allows us to do things that could help and we shouldn't not do those things. And pretending that reality isn't reality because we don't like it is foolish.

The reality right now is that tax receipts do not fund government expenditure and that there are too few USDs in circulation to support industrial capacity let alone increase it. And, in the end, the only way to add those USDs is for the USG to purchase things or to give it away. Right now, we are giving it away to Int'l Finance because of a thing hardly anyone knows about or understands namely the eurodollar (not the euro). It is a fascinating subject but not really relevant here. What is important is that for a number of reasons (de-industrialization and the eurodollar etc etc) there aren't enough USDs to support domestic industrial capacity or the world's industrial capacity.

Now, to get back to your worry about individual savings, there is properly understood a glut of USD "savings" in the world. "Savings" is a big word and it includes USTs and the stock market and housing liquidity and even savings accts. A "saving" is a removal of USDs from circulation and too much has been removed. I am assuming you are worried about hyper-inflation? Well I discussed that above. It is a risk, but it isn't a necessary result of injection of currency into the system.

You may not like it, but MMT accurately describes the way the current US economic system works and it is being applied now and was applied in 2008 to bailout Int'l Finance.

The good thing is, it is ideologically neutral despite what the vocal proponents who are just neolib servants of Int'l Finance imply. It could be used in a non-inflationary way to re-industrialize the economy. In other words, it doesn't have to be used for some Green New Deal grift. It can be used by Rightists (wholesome and me) or Conservatives (disgusting and greedy) or neolibs (also greedy and disgusting) or Leftists (insane).

This is a really excellent book on MMT. It was written by an architect in an incredibly accessible and commonsense visual way (diagrams). It is also short and cheap.

The Pentagon announced on Tuesday it was halting operational training of all Saudi Arabian military personnel in the United States until further notice in the wake of the deadly shooting by a Saudi air force officer.

The decision will have far-reaching impacts, including grounding more than 300 Saudi Arabian military aviation students

Nobody asks me how I felt about it. They didn't ask you either.

Our hero's Twitter is close to what Salafi terrorists have been saying for a long time now. That's my point.

Aint about our freedoms. It's about Israel and US forces deployed in the Middle East.
