Body Wrench

Post by Shafpocalypse Now »

http://www.thebodywrench.com/

BobW told me about this tool. His new chiro has him use it. I was on the fence about gettting a new bodyworking tool (was looking at some of the stuff Starrett has on Rogue).

Found a 25% coupon.

"SPARTAN"

This thing is pretty fucking hardcore. It hits places in my middle back that nothing else has hit...not lax balls, not the hard rumbleroller, nothing, and I actually have little circular bruises where this thing has pressed out bound up knots. I'm not kidding, I thought I was going to piss myself when I hit them. This thing is effective. It also goes under the arm really well for the little cuff stuff in the arm pit.

Very versatile. The videos and ad copy is kind of gay, but I think this might be like the YRG of self myofascial release here.

That ad copy is so over the top it's almost Furey-esque.

I'm sure it's pretty awesome, but this just sounds... wrong.

How exactly is it different than the a LAX ball in effectiveness?

I'm kind of intrigued, especially with your testimonial. But that ad copy and web site makes pirate Viagra sites look like the height of professionalism.

I'm trying to decipher the "store". Is it $85 for 1, and $145 for 2?

85 for 1 Body Wrench, DVD, and booklet...it comes in a spiffy "Boot Camp Burn - Pressure Point Relief" straight to INFOMERCIAL package.

However, use SPARTAN and get 25% off, which makes it pretty reasonable.

The tool itself is very heavy, very sturdy. BobW and I were laughing, because it looks like it could be a sex toy.

I've gotten a foam roller, rumble roller, lacrosse ball, and orbital buffer from similarly superlative comments on this forum. Is there really a major difference from a lacrosse ball + buffer?
One of the downsides of the Internet is that it allows like-minded people to form communities, and sometimes those communities are stupid.

Depends. Do you have fucked up musculature?

For example: At times I have just an awful grinding knee pain. I hit it with the voodoo band compression for a bit, then I rumble-roll or lax obvoid-roll the calves, quads, and hamstrings and it quiets it down quite a bit. The car buffer works great to get into the quad and outer calf tissue for this purpose, but if I go in with a bigger ball than a lax ball, I find some that I haven't gotten, the lax ball is too small. The rollers don't let me get the precise point. I was using a softball for this.

With this Body Wrench, it opened up some thoracic stuff that I haven't realized I was missing, and I roll my goddamn thoracic region all the time with the rumbleroller...in addition, the side by side configuration lets me nail some trap shit that I haven't been able to apply pressure to.

So, this thing is good. Do you need it? I don't know. Are you happy with what you've got going on now? If so, probably not. If you like dabbling with shit like this, and obviously I do, and allow it to distract me sometimes, than maybe it's a worthwhile purchase

Looks like something that would be used as a camping accessory in your area.

Such a beautiful image.

"No, Shaf, whaaaaaA. Wow. What if we combine it with bands?"

"Genius."
