60s Francoist Spanish super soldier gets frozen while fighting ‘ex’-Nazi scientist and his son, and comes back to life in the present day, just in time to save a Spain in peril while struggling to adapt to modern life. Kind of a mix between Winter Soldier and Dick Tracy, especially in the portrayal of 60s Spain. While ostensibly about the clash between francoist values and modern liberal ones, there’s also a threat of Russian influence making it interesting. I’m liking the hell out of this series.

Watched the final episode. Overall the fight scenes were a bit weak and I hated that the female lead dressed and ran like she was wearing an adult diaper— but those are minor quibbles about an overall great series. Setup for the next series was really well done and I am looking forward to seeing it.
